Animal Profile

Freddie

Hello, my name is Freddie. My animal id is #74586. I am a desexed female white cat at the . The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 4 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 9/1/2019, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving - no pets allowed.

Reserved

Someone has already placed a deposit on me. I'm no longer available.

Freddie is not open to interaction at this time and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. Because her previous owner reports she is friendly in a home environment, we believe the behavior seen in the care center is shelter-specific and she will do well with experienced pet parents. There are no medical concerns at this time.

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: Freddie remains neutral, resting in her den when approached by the assessor. She seems curious, peeks out with eyes wide, looking around. She slowly walks halfway out of the den, sniffs the hand then retreats. When moving forward with the assessor's hand to pet she briefly accepted the touch on the head then gradually swats and hisses to stop the interaction. Seems unsure, but shows interest for offered treats, she ate them when left alone. Freddie is not open to interaction at this time and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. Because her previous owner reports she is friendly in a home environment, we believe the behavior seen in the care center is shelter-specific and this cat would make a great pet, but is really struggling in the shelter environment. This cat is suitable for adopters with previous cat experience who are willing to work with a cat who needs time and patience to help her adjust to their new home.
