I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 11/4/2018, with the surrender reason stated as person health - allergies.

Someone has already placed a deposit on me. I'm no longer available.

Princess is at risk for medical, she has been diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection which will require rest and in home care. There are no behavior concerns at this time.

SO URi day 2. Kennel card indicates anorexia x 2 days. P is BAR in kennel. En -- eyes and nose are clear. No discharge noted. A URI -- mild, suspect viral anorexia P mirtazapine transdermal -- give 1.5 inches topically to inner pinna, one time

QAR in kennel. Was anorexic and given mirtaz on 11/18. P canned food tray is empty and P is eating well. continue to monitor in shelter

Princess was very stiff bodied and kept her body low to the ground. She has her ears to the side and allowed us to collar her and take her picture but she kept trying to flee.

Basic Information:: Princess is a female orange and white tabby that is estimated to be 8 years old. Her previous owner found her as a stray 8 years ago and kept her until her allergies became too severe

How is this cat around strangers?: Princess did not have many strangers visit her home but would usually hide if there was company

How is this cat around children?: Princess lived with 1 child and was relaxed with her. They would spend time together but she wouldn't seek attention.

How is this cat around other cats?: Princess was not around other cats in her previous home.

How is this cat around dogs?: Princess was not around other dogs in her previous home.

Behavior Notes: Princess tends to hide when she is scarred home and will run into the closet. She does not enjoy being in a carrier or in a car and will usually cry and try to get out. She enjoys baths and being brushed for short periods of time. She does not like being picked up or having her nails trimmed.

Bite history:: Princess has no history of having bitten another person or animal.

For a New Family to Know: Princess is an independent cat that enjoys lying around her favorite places around the house. She likes to play with stuffed toys and balls. She is used to being indoors all day and eating dry food. She likes to sleep on her owners bed. She is very litter box trained and uses a covered litter box. She does not like to use scratching posts and does not scratch on furniture.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 11/5/18 Standing at the front on approach, eating dry food, soft posture, eyes a little dilated (age related?) Continued eating when door opened. Leaned and arched into pets, purred, lifted rear for butt scratches.

Reaction when softly spoken to:: Princess wakes and comes to the front, looking at the assessor with soft eyes and body.

Reaction to cage door opening:: Princess remains calm and relaxed.

Reaction to touch:: Princess leans and arches into the stroke and begins to purr.

Reaction to being picked up:: Princess sits calmly in the assessor's arms.
