Animal Profile

Dynasty

Hello, my name is Dynasty. My animal id is #88188. I am a female brown brindle dog at the . The shelter thinks I am about 12 years 3 months 3 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a stray on 2/8/2020.

Reserved

Someone has already placed a deposit on me. I'm no longer available.

Dynasty is at risk for behavioral reasons. She has displayed fearful behavior while at the care center and though she has begun to warm up to some handlers, she has still exhibited handling and touch sensitivities. Due to the discomfort Dynasty initially displayed with touch and novel stimuli at the care center, we feel that an adult-only home would be most beneficial at this time. Medically, Dynasty was diagnosed with canine infectious respiratory disease complex which is contagious to other animals and will need further care.

Let's get to know each other a bit more...

Hi, my name is Dynasty. I'm an older gal who knows what she likes. Some of the things I like are dogs. I've met some really nice dogs here who appreciate a brief 'hello' and a good scent. I also like calmness. Too much goings-on makes my head spin and prefer to stick to regular, dependable routine. I don't mind my kennel, though a home with individuals who like the same things as me, is more desirable. So, in this month of love, come find your soul mate (ME!) at Manhattan ACC!

My medical notes are...

Weight: 48.5 lbs

[Spay/Neuter Waiver - Age] It is the policy of ACC not to perform surgery on any animal over the age of 8-10 years due to the higher risks incurred in a shelter setting. The veterinarian is hereby issuing a permanent spay/neuter waiver, from the spay/neuter requirements of the City of NY due to the estimated age of this animal. ACC does recommend you consult with your veterinarian to determine if surgical sterilization is appropriate.

Potential challenges comments:: Handling/touch sensitivity: Dynasty has shown discomfort with handling upon first arriving at the care center, snapping at handlers who attempt to put a leash on her or touch her collar. She has been observed to warm up over time, soliciting attention and accepting handling. We recommend a slow approach and time to acclimate to people before any sort of in depth handling is done. Please see handout on Handling/touch sensitivity. Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: Dynasty was highly fearful when she first arrived at the care center, snapping at handlers. She has been observed to warm up over time. Please see handout on Fearful/potential for defensive aggression.
