Hello, my name is Caress. My animal id is #10672. I am a desexed female brown tabby cat at the . The shelter thinks I am about 3 years 1 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 10/24/2017, with the surrender reason stated as person health - allergies.

Caress is at risk due to behavior (Experience determination). Caress is fearful in shelter and avoids interaction and we feel Caress isn't thriving in care center environment. There are no known health concerns for Caress at this time.

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: Reported 2 years and 10 months - exam is consistent with this Microchip noted on Intake? Scanned neg on intake; MC placed History : Surrendered with 2 other cats; came from a house with 6 cats total. No health hx given. Subjective: Alert, quiet Observed Behavior - Sits on exam table, slightly tense, moves slowly, allows all handling and grooming Objective BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 4.5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: Clean teeth PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Female, spay scar visible MSI: Ambulatory x 4. No flea dirt seen. Wounds to both lateral shoulders - alopecia, erythema and mild crusting. Polydactyl on all four feet. CNS: Mentation appropriate - no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Assessment: 1. Wounds to both shoulders - R/O itching from fleas vs. other cause 2. Polydactyl Prognosis: Good Plan: Treated with flea medication on intake - treat monthly, always. Give Benadryl 6.25 mg PO BID x10 days. Consider other causes if this is ineffective. 1088

S/O -QAR, unsocialized -diarrhea reported multiple times this morning -small patch of moist dermatitis on shoulder -unthrifty, mild muscle wasting A Diarrhea-r/o parasites vs stress vs other P panacur 100 mg/ml: 1.1 ml PO SID x 5 days fortiflora on food SID x 5 days

Upon intake Caress allowed all handling. When removed from the carrier she attempted to hide. However once held for a few minutes she became more relaxed however still with a tense body. She allowed being collared and placed in a carrier.

Behavior Notes: This cat has no known behavior concerns and sleeps during car rides. She has never had a bath, is afraid of having her nails trimmed and struggles with being placed in a carrier. She isn't bothered with being picked up or being brushed.

She prefers and uncovered litter box with clumping litter and had no interests in scratching posts.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 10/25/17 Curled up towards front, tense, eyes dilated. Flattened ears and hissed when spoken to. Tolerated pets, slowly retreated to back of cubby. Sprayed feliway. 10/26/17 Curled up behind litter box, eyes dilated, wary. Lowered head slightly and hid face when door opened. Lay in place, tolerated pets, no real response. Sprayed feliway.
