I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 2/13/2018, with the surrender reason stated as person health - allergies.

Easily handleable. During intkae Pepe was very talkative. Pepe allowed to be scanned and collared with no problem. Pepe became a little hissy but still allowed all handling.

Basic Information:: Pepe is a 5 year old black and white DSH. Owner has had Pepe for 2 years and has known him for 5 years. Pepe is being surrendered due to allergies.

How is this cat around strangers?: Around strangers Pepe is shy for a few minutes. Pepe plays exuberantly with adults.

How is this cat around children?: Pepe has lived with children ages 7 and 15 and is respectful towards them. Pepe plays exuberantly. Pepe likes to chase people and swat at them but never scratches.

How is this cat around other cats?: Pepe did not live with a cat in his previous home but the home before that Pepe was reported to live with another cat. Pepe was playful with them and played gently

How is this cat around dogs?: Pepe did not live with a dog

Behavior Notes: in car rides Pepe meows. Pepe does not like getting baths and will struggle to get out to the water . Pepe also doesnt like having his nails trimmed and will try to bite. Pepe enjoys being brushed ans isnt bothered when being picked up and held. Pepe will struggle to get away when being placed in a carrier.

For a New Family to Know: Pepe was described as affectionate and talkative. when home with Pepe he likes to follow you around. Pepe enjoys playing with stuffed mice toys. Pepe is an indoor only cat. Pepe eats friskies wet food and dry food twice a day. Pepe is litter box trained and uses a covered litter box with arm and hammer litter. Pepe has a scratching post made of twine and also likes to scratch on the sofa. when its time for bed Pepe sleep on the sofa.

Reaction to assessor:: Pepe was tense and crouched in the back of the kennel with wide eyes focused on the assessor. He hisses when the assessor approaches and starts to lip lick.

Reaction when softly spoken to:: Pepe inches away towards the back of the kennel and continues to lip lick.

Reaction to cage door opening:: Pepe hisses and rises up slowly.

Reaction to touch:: Pepe's ears bend slightly and he hisses when the assessor extends his hand out. He sniffs the assessor's hand and tolerates petting with a slow approach. His body twitches and his tail starts to sway with every soft pass along his body.
