I came into the shelter as a returns on 11/25/2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- homeless.

Tigra is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with Upper Respiratory Infection, which is contagious to other cats. Behaviorally, Tigra has been assessed as being suitable for most homes.

Beautiful Tigra previously lived with several children, whom she loved to follow around. She also liked to be carried and petted, and previously lived with another cat, with whom she was relaxed, affectionate, and playful. Fall in love with this sweetie today!

Anesthesia Report: Pre-medication: 0.07 mL dexdomitor, 0.04 mL butorphanol, 0.35 mL ketamine. 0.5 mL Simbadol and 0.35 mL Robenacoxib given SQ during prep for pain management. Antisedan given after sx 0.03 ml IM. Start 0.5 cc simbadol 1.8 mg/ml sid x 3 days and 0.35 cc Robenacoxib 20 mg/ml sid x 3 days as pain management.

Upon intake, Tigra allowed pets on the head and allowed to be collared. When outside of her carrier, Tigra allowed all handling and was not bothered when I picked her up to position her for a picture. Tigra was also not bothered when I put a small hat on her to take a thanksgiving themed photo. She had a low purr throughout the intake.

Basic Information:: Tigra is a 4 year old female brown tabby domestic medium haired cat. Tigra lived with previous owner for about 4 years. Tigra was surrendered because previous owner no longer has a place to live and could not keep her. Tigra has no injuries or health issues and was last taken to the vet about 1 year ago.

Previously lived with:: Tigra previously lived with one adult, four kids and one cat.

How is this cat around strangers?: Tigra is shy for days around strangers and will hide. Tigra will come out if she is comfortable enough and will allow to be pet.

How is this cat around children?: Tigra previously lived with children aged 6 to 14 years old. Tigra loved to follow the kids around and liked to be carried and petted.

How is this cat around other cats?: Tigra previously lived with an 8 year old neutered cat named Oreo. Tigra was relaxed and affectionate and liked to sleep next to Oreo on their cat bed. Tigra was playful with Oreo and played gentle.

How is this cat around dogs?: Tigra has never interacted with dogs.

Behavior Notes: Tigra meows a lot at home and also meows during bus rides. Tigra is not bothered when being bathed and has never had her nails trimmed. Tigra enjoys have her coat brushed and enjoys being picked up and held. Tigra is not bothered when being put into a carrier or when being disturbed as she sleeps.

For a New Family to Know: Tigra is an affectionate, shy and talkative cat. When at home, Tigra will follow you around. Tigra enjoys playing with anything that rolls around and was an indoors only cat. Tigra was fed dry food two times a day and is litter box trained. Tigra used an uncovered litter box with Fresh Step cat litter. Tigra had a scratching post made out of carpet that she liked to use.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 11/15/17 Curled up at back of cubby, head in litter box, seems depressed. Lay in place when door opened, leaned into pets, lowered head. Unwilling to come forward. Slow blinked after door closed. Sprayed thunderease. 11/16/17 Resting in cubby, soft eyes and body, sleepy. Lay in place when door opened, leaned into pets, extended neck for throat rubs. After a bit, stood and came forward for treats. Leaned and arched more enthusiastically into pets, purred, drooled.

Cage Condition:: Cage is neat

Reaction to assessor:: Tigra remains neutral lying down on her cage bedding during the approach.

Reaction when softly spoken to:: Tigra becomes alert with eyes wide open and lip licking in place.

Reaction to cage door opening:: Tigra remains immobile in place.
