Hello, my name is Magic. My animal id is #70529. I am a desexed male orange tabby cat at the . The shelter thinks I am about 9 years 3 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 8/3/2019, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- no time for animal.

Magic is at risk for medical concerns. He has been diagnosed with elevated kidney levels and will need to have follow up with a private veterinarian after adoption. Behaviorally there has been no observed concerns while in the Care Center.

Behavior Notes: This cat ends to escape the house. He meows/cries on car rides. Magic rarely/never has litter box problems. Magic is not bothered when he is brushed, is held, is disturbed while sleeping. Magic is afraid when put in a carrier and hisses when held.

For a New Family to Know: Magic catches mice and is protective. In the home he slept in his own bed. Magic ate 1 bowl of wet and dry food 2x/day. Magic is litter box trained and used an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Magic scratches on furniture/drapes, and a scratch post made out of cardboard or carpet.

Reaction to assessor:: Magic looked at the assessor with a soft gaze and slow blinked. His ears and whiskers were forward and his tail pointed upward.

Reaction when softly spoken to:: Magic continued to slow blink at the assessor when spoken to.

Reaction to cage door opening:: Magic walked over to the kennel door and head bumped the assessor's hand.

Reaction to touch:: Magic purred loudly and leaned into the assessor's hand while being pet. He laid down , stretched and rolled on the kennel door while being pet.

Reaction to being picked up:: Magic's body tensed up but allowed the assessor to pick him up.
