Regal
Hello, my name is Regal. My animal id is #82140. I am a desexed male brown dog at the . The shelter thinks I am about 5 years 2 months 3 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 11/21/2019, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- no time for animal.

Someone has already placed a deposit on me. I'm no longer available.
Regal is at risk for behavioral reasons. Regal has deteriorated during his stay in the care center and has displayed a low threshold for arousal. Regal would be best suited for placement with an experienced adopter that can provide the necessary behavior modification. Medically, Regal has a perineal hernia which may need further care.

Let's get to know each other a bit more...
A volunteer writes: Sometimes, a dog's name seems aspirational. Regal, for example. I expected a rather composed, stately dog. Instead, I was greeted by a dog with the biggest smile, disappearing-ears-of-pleasure and all. Just a rounded dog head, squinty eyes and a wiggling body that moved like jello. And we just met! "Easy" would be the strongest word I associated with Regal. Seems housetrained, accepted me immediately as fit for companionship. No fuss. The only moment his ears were at full sail was hearing a loud, concerning noise outside on the street. It was momentary, and the cinnamon dog with the infectious grin returned, and his tremendous ears were once more tucked away, as they do on truly happy, high spirited dogs. Why wait for the holidays for a basket of cheer, when you can adopt Regal right now, at Manhattan's ACC
