Someone has already placed a deposit on me. I'm no longer available.

Shipok was placed at risk due to behavioral concerns; he is not thriving here in the care center and is displaying distant-fearful behavior. We are recommending placement with an experienced cat adopter. Shipok was diagnosed with Dental Disease and is overweight.

Let's get to know each other a bit more...

My name is Shipok and I'm a handsome brown tabby boy. My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I'm sensitive and shy and I'll need extra help from you to develop into a well-adjusted cat. I am looking for a home with a patient person - I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing, so I'm a pretty low maintenance companion. I appreciate high spaces to lounge on so I can watch everything below me, that's when I feel the safest! Come down to ACC Brooklyn and meet me today!

My medical notes are...

BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Level 3

Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: Shipok Has been distant and uncomfortable during his stay in our care centers, but is tolerant of petting. During his assessment, he is subdued on his kuranda bed, making eye contact with large, dilated eyes. His ears are complete flat and he remains froze when opening his kennel door. He is tolerant of petting, but will slightly lean back and remains mostly frozen in fear while he is pet. Shipok tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
