Lola is at risk for medical reasons. Lola has contracted Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex, which is contagious to other dogs. Behaviorally, Lola has been assessed as being suited to a dog experienced home.

A volunteer writes: "Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl....". Our Lola certainly is beautiful enough to be a showgirl, and also the cover girl for plus-size doggy wear, as well as the founder of Doggy Weight Watchers here at ACC. Rubenesque and stunning, Lola has clearly been fed with love as her coat shines, her tail never stops wagging, she's fun, friendly and affectionate. So quiet in her kennel waiting her turn for a walk, she's likely housetrained, pulls on the leash when she decides there's a scent she absolutely must investigate, but otherwise walks nicely. Lola loves treats and takes them gently, plays with toys, hops up on the bench, smiles and smiles and smiles. Super affectionate, Lola loves to give and get kisses, and is effervescent in everything she does. Surely voted Best Smile and Most Popular in school, Miss Lola shines in everything she does. She has an amazing personality, not overpowering, but friendly, enthusiastic and perfect. No way to have a case of the blahs when you're around this gorgeous girl. Hopping back in her kennel when our time together was over, Lola flashed her award winning smile. She's a gem, so run, don't walk to come meet Miss Lola today.

Hx: Presenting for spay. Suspected pregnancy. Ate a rope toy yesterday and vomited it. S: Energetic, barks, jumps around, allows all handling. O: BAR-H, BCS 7-8/9, MMs pink and moist, CRT <2 sec EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. Mild tartar. PLNs: Not significantly enlarged. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses or fetuses palpated M/S/I: Amb x4. UG: Female, pendulous mammary glands with thin, clear, yellow fluid easily expressed. No vulvar discharge. Upon intake, Lola was wagging her tail and allowed counselor to approach her and pet her. Lola was energetic and was constantly jumping on the client and would head butt the client in the face. Lola allowed counselor to collar her and take a picture and went into the kennel without a struggle.

Basic Information:: Lola is approximately a 2 year old female gray and white large mixed breed dog. Lola was removed from her home about 3 weeks ago when her owner passed away. Lola lived with a caretaker for 3 weeks and was surrendered because caretaker could not find a new home for her. Lola has no injuries or health problems and has not seen a vet recently.
Previously lived with:: Lola previously lived with 1 adult.
How is this dog around strangers?: Lola is friendly and outgoing towards strangers. Lola will approach strangers and jump on them and lick their face. Lola allows strangers to greet her and pet her.
How is this dog around children?: Lola has not interacted with children.
How is this dog around other dogs?: Lola has not interacted with other dogs.
How is this dog around cats?: Lola has not interacted with cats.
Resource guarding:: Lola was not bothered when an object was taken away from her. Her caretaker did not try to remove her food bowl or a treat from her.
Bite history:: Lola has not tried to bite another animal or human.

For a New Family to Know: Lola is a friendly, playful, confident, and excitable dog. When at home, Lola will follow you around or stay in the same room. Lola is an indoors only dog and was free-fed dry food every day. Lola is house-trained and was being walked 3 times a day and would pull very hard on the leash. When left alone, Lola bark and whines but is overall well-behaved. Lola knows how to sit on command.

Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog's mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft 'popping' of the body, etc. Dog might jump on Assessor once play begins.

IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:: While Lola has displayed some in-kennel reactivity towards passing dogs, she remains highly social when interacting with her human caretakers. Lola is affectionate, friendly and actively seeks/solicits attention; she has displayed no handling concerns.
