ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Moderate

VOCAL:: Somewhat chatty

CHARACTER TYPE: : Social,Sweet,Affectionate,Playful,People oriented,Easy going,Curious

BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Level 1

Recommendations comments:: Adopters experienced with introducing new cats; When Spock was introduced to the free roam room with another cat, he was tense with an arched back and wide eyes as he watched him closely. When Spock was slowly approached with a neutral body and soft chirping he hissed harshly and started to growl/grumble. He did not settle and maintained a high arched back, low tail and his ears occasionally tilted as he watched the other cat from across the room. Hiss and growling continued from a distance.

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: On approach, Spock is standing at the front of the cage with a soft and neutral face and body, ears forward, and tail raised. He moves over into the cubby and when the door is opened, he pokes his head out to look at the assessor and the room itself. He sniffs the hand offered out to him and accepts pets along his head, cheeks, and back as he leans into all touch. When he steps forward even more, he allows the assessor to lift him up and hold him in their arms as they pet his cheeks, and place him back in the cubby without issue. Spock interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience.
