KNOWN HISTORY:: Domino was brought in as a stray; there is no known information on her behavior history in a home environment. Upon intake Domino was very fearful experiencing high FAS. Due to Domino's stress state counselors had minimal handling, scanning for microchip and placed immediately from carrier into kennel. All done without any concerns.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 7/28/26 FB61 Hunched in front of kennel, body and face tense with her ears tilted and her eyes extremely wide. She hisses and maintains eye contact with big circle eyes and dilated pupils as she trembles slightly with her tail curled around her body. She is so scared! She flattens her ears as she sees me reach towards her with a tube of churu, but once I squeeze it in front of her she eats the treats immediately while shifting her ears forward! She is food motivated which is good, we can build positive associations, however she is scared of toys and bubbles. She can also really benefit from play therapy. 8/04/26 FB61 Hunched in front of kennel, body and face very tense with her ears flattened, her tail wrapped around her body while she hisses and trembles, eyes widening further. They retreat together to the back of the kennel as the cage door opens and I slide a tray of squeeze-ups towards her. She eats them immediately, ears shifting forward as he is all consumed by the flavor of the squeezie. She allows all petting while she eats, moving forward as the tray slides towards me. Did great today, very food motivated! 8/9/26 FB47 Domino is at the rear of her kennel upon approach. She gives a big hiss as I enter the kennel. Her body is tense, ears slanted to the side, and has large pupils. She eats squeeze up treats from a tray, her body loosening. I pet her with a tool as she eats. 8/11/26 FB61 She is hiding in her box today, her face and body low with her tilted ears visible. She hisses and disappears into her box as I open the kennel door, and I leave her some squeeze-ups and close the door. When I check on her moments later, she is at the front of her kennel eating her treaties. She hisses softly, however when I leave her some more squeeze-up she tolerates all petting on her head she eats. Very food motived - keep building positive associations! 8/18/26 FB61 This little baby was so brave today. She's being a box gremlin, she's in there with her ears flat and her eyes very wide with dilated pupils. She pops her head up like a little jack-in-the-box as I open the kennel door and she begins hissing with airplane ears. I present the tube of squeeze-ups to her and she leans forward and begins to eat from the tube as I hold it. Her face softens and her ears shift to a tilted position instead of being completely flattened. I speak to her softly and slow-blink as she eats. I feed her an entire tube. She looks around with wide eyes, her ears flicking forward and then back again. The fact that she's eating from the tube while I hold it is good progress! 8/26/26 FB20 Domino is in her box and soft hisses. She sniffs scratcher tool and eats churu placed on her box. She jumps out of the box for more churu but hisses harshly when a hand is moved slowly towards her. Continue with squeeze up and soft talk and Domino stays in the main area of the kennel! 8/28/26 FB79 Inside of her box, Domino has wide eyes and her ears forward GAN

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: Domino was hunched in the back of her kennel as the assessor approached, body and face tense with her head lowered onto the floor and her tail curled tightly around her body. Domino raised her head and shifted her weight as the kennel door opened. Domino hissed when the assessor reached towards her with the scratcher tool and she tolerated petting along her head and body while backing away, flattening her ears and moving her head side to side as if assessing a way to flee. Pick up was not attempted at this time to reduce stress. Domino appears to be fearful and may not have had much human interaction up to this point. During the assessment she displayed distance increasing behaviors and would benefit from extra socialization. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents who are preferably familiar with kitten socialization or are open to detailed counseling by staff. Contact with young children should be avoided or done under strict supervision to prevent provoking a fear response, further delaying socialization.
