Animal Profile

Rosemary

Hello, my name is Rosemary. My animal id is #258275. I am a female patch tabby cat at the Queens Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 12 years 1 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a stray on 6/27/2026.

Rosemary is on the at risk list for medical reasons. Rosemary is a sweet, underweight, old cat with some severe bloodwork changes that are suggestive of cancer. She is clinically doing well in shelter (bright, interactive, great appetite), and her bloodwork values and weight have improved, but her long term prognosis remains guarded to poor. Behaviorally, Rosemary is amenable to handling and petting.

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. What do you get when you cross a cat with a couch? A cat-potato! And that's me to a T! I am a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

My medical notes are...

Details on my behavior are...

Behavior Condition: 3. Yellow

KNOWN HISTORY:: Rosemary was brought in as a stray, there is no known information on her behavior history in a home environment.

ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Mellow

CHARACTER TYPE: : Social,Calm,Sweet,Affectionate,People oriented,Easy going

POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:: New home adjustment period

BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Level 1

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: Upon approach Rosemary is in a deep sleep at the front of her kennel. When the kennel door is opened, Rosemary slowly wakes up to look at the assessor. She bobs her head once gently. Rosemary accepts face and neck touch leaning into the assessors hand. She stands up carefully and allows all body pets. Her body remains soft and she leans in allowing touch on her stomach. When lifted Rosemary's body tenses. When placed back down her tail is slightly raised, her body stiffens for 5 seconds before loosening again. She moves towards her dry food and eats while being pet on her body still leaning in. Rosemary interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience.
