Animal Profile

Handsome

Hello, my name is Handsome . My animal id is #242868. I am a male tri color dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 6 years 1 months 1 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 12/28/2025, with the surrender reason stated as not a fit - too many animals already.

Handsome needs at risk placement for medical reasons. He is a sweet boy who is uncomfortable due to ruptured corneas, inflammation in his eyes and diarrhea. He is not eating and needs an internal medicine workup including thoracic and abdominal ultrasound to develop a treatment plan.

Let's get to know each other a bit more...

What my friends at ACC say about me: I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets. I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.
