Summary:: Lowkey Mischief arrived at the care centers as a stray, so his history with other dogs is unknown. 7/11/26: Lowkey Mischief is introduced to a novel intact female and approaches the fence with a tense body, ears pinned back, whining. He began pawing at the gate, demand barking, and stress panting. He was fixating on the other dog and continued to high pitched demand bark as he was brought back to kennel. 6/13/26: Lowkey Mischief greets a novel male dog on leash at the gate and is low bodied when seeing the male dog, slowly walks up the gate and when the male looks over she will duck, move away and not reapproach. The male will stand with a neutral body and sniff towards the gate but otherwise does not do anything else.

Summary (3):: 8/21/26: Lowkey Mischief is at the front of his kennel, jumping high against the kennel door and barking when the handler approaches. He is leashed with a treat lure and willingly exits the kennel. In the hallways Lowkey pulls hard toward the exit, shifting his body weight forward but shows no interest or reactivity toward dogs in pop-up crates. Once outside, Lowkey continues pulling strongly toward the street. He is heavy panting and frequently changing direction as he walks. His body remains slightly tense from the pulling, and his eyes are wide. Handler is able to cue him to sit, which briefly helps him slow down and settle. Lowkey responds to the cue but quickly loses focus and resumes pulling hard forward. Lowkey remains social with the handler. He allows petting and gently accepts offered treats. He does not react toward passing dogs, people, or other stimuli during the walk. During return handler is able to pre-clip the leash and bring Lowkey Mischief back into his kennel with no further issues. 8/13/26: Lowkey Mischief is noted to be well behaved on the walks; he also doesn't pull and sits when the handler stops walking 8/12/26: Lowkey Mischief is at the front of his kennel with a loose body as the handler approaches. He is easily leashed with a treat lure and willingly exits the kennel. In the hallways, Lowkey pulls toward the exit but shows no interest in pop-up crates or staff members.

Summary (4):: -Once outside, he immediately relieves himself in the driveway and continues walking slightly ahead of the handler with mild to none leash tension. He shows no reaction to other dogs or passing by people. Lowkey is social with the handler, allows petting, responds to the cue “sit” and gently takes treats. His body remains loose, with a relaxed face during the walk. Upon return handler is able to pre-clip the leash and bring Lowkey Mischief back into the kennel with ease 8/4/26: Lowkey Mischief was at the front of his kennel alarm barking with a loose body and high wagging tail. He began standing up on the door when approached and lightly mouthed the door as it was opened. He attempted to push out but was easily leashed with a treat through the leash loop. Lowkey pulled moderately on leash towards the pop up crate outside the kennel room but was easily led outside with leash pressure. He relieved himself outside and pulled towards other dogs in play yards remaining loose. In the play yard Lowkey was social with the handler and maintained a loose body with an open panting mouth. He often rolled on his back on the turf while displaying his belly. He took treats gently and sat for them. He did mouth the handler with gentle pressure at times but was easily redirectable when the handler turned/had Lowkey sit for a treat. On the way back to kennel, Lowkey pulled towards other dogs but entered kennel without issue. 8/1/26: Lowkey Mischief was at the front of kennel when handler approached. His body was loose and wiggly, tip tapping his toes back and forth. He was leashed with a treat lure and brought out to the play yards. In the play yard he engaged in working on basic manners in between jogging around. He pulled moderately towards pigeons on the way back. His kennel return was not noteworthy. 7/31/26: Lowkey Mischief is at the front of his kennel with loose body when handler approaches. He starts pawing the kennel door when handler touches the lock. He is easily leashed with a treat lure and is taken out of the kennel. Lowkey pulls forward in the hallways towards the exit without interest towards pop-up crats or staff members. Once outside, Lowkey immediately relieves himself and continues walking slightly ahead of the handler with mild to none leash tension. When he sees another dog he will stare at them but loses interest quickly and disengages when handler offers treats. He doesn't react towards other people passerby. Lowkey is social with handler, allows petting, follows command 'sit" and gently takes treats. His body is loose with relaxed face during the walk. Upon return handler is able to pre-clip the leash and bring Lowkey Mischief back into his kennel with no issues.

Summary (5):: 07/30/26: Lowkey Mischief is at the front of his kennel as handler approaches, he is leashed while distracted with treats. He pulls out of kennel moderately but does not pull toward dogs, once out the room Lowkey follows handler downstairs and out to the street for his walk. Outside he is loose bodied and turns to handler frequently, he accepts treats and pets and walks well alongside handler. His pulling completely stops shortly after the walk begins and he passes people without issue. When seeing dogs from afar he shows no reaction, when passing parralel to dogs he will stare at them and pull toward them when within lose range but is easily redirectable and recovers quickly, sitting for more treats. After a bit he is brought back inside, Lowkey pulls when returning to kennel but when shown a treat he follows it back into kennel without issue. 7/29/26: Staff reported that Lowkey Mischief is kennel reactivity at a high intensity. Upon exiting he is turning towards the left and the right kennels on either side of him. 7/26/26: Lowkey Mischief is at the front of the kennel with a soft body and wagging tail. He is easily leashed and is taken out of the kennel. He immediately ducks behind the handler and pulls towards the neighboring kennel. Jumping up onto the kennel. He is quickly straight armed and taken out of the kennel room. Lowkey is taken to the street. He walks slowly behind the handler, lagging behind them. His head lowered, and occasionally whale eying the handler. He is heavily panting with a strained expression. He continues to duck behind the handler, slowly pressing into the handler's leg. He occasionally stopped to sniff his surroundings. Lowkey Mischief is walked back to the shelter. He perks up when entering the shelter, he has a loose body and his head raises slightly, walking with a trot besides the handler. Lowkey Mischief is then returned to kennel without issue. 7/22/26: Lowkey Mischief is observed to pull towards and vocalize at the dogs in the kennel he passes while walking out the room. 7/20/26: Lowkey Mischief is sitting at the front of the kennel with a soft, wiggly body and wagging tail. As the kennel is unlocked, Lowkey is jumping up high in kennel at eye level with the handler. He begins digging at the kennel door. Lowkey is easily leashed with a treat lure and pulls hard out of the kennel. He is brought out to the street where he pulls hard. He startles and ducks away at some loud machinery. He pulls mildly on the leash to sniff around and relieve self. He is then brought back to the shelter and pulls very hard, running forward back inside the building. He is taken back to the assessment office where he greets the assessor exuberantly with a soft body and wagging tail. He sits at the assessor's feet for treats. After the assessment, he pulls hard back to kennel where he is returned without issue.

Summary (6):: 7/18/26: Lowkey Mischief is standing at the front of his kennel with a soft body when the handler approaches. He is easily leashed and exits the kennel; as he leaves the room, he pulls hard toward the exit. While waiting in the elevator, Lowkey repeatedly jumps up onto the handler in an exuberant, social manner. His body remains loose. In the hallways, when he passes pop-up crates, he attempts to pull toward them; he briefly sniffs around and stares at the dog inside, but is redirected with treats. Once outside, he walks with moderate leash pressure and occasionally looks back for checks in with handler. When he notices another dog, he stops and stares at them with a slightly tense body, but is distracted by recall and is rewarded with treats. He readily re-engages with the handler and continues the walk slightly ahead. He allows petting and engages in pattern games. He will move forward towards passing by people with a neutral body, trying to greet them, but is redirected with treats. During return, handler is able to pre-clip the leash and bring Lowkey back into his kennel with ease. 7/11/26: Lowkey Mischief is at the front of his kennel with a soft body; he is easily leashed and brought out the room. While waiting for and entering the elevator, Lowkey exuberantly jumps high towards the handler's face. After exiting the elevator, the handler walks Lowkey to the yard for playgroup, which he pulls hards towards (see dog-dog notes). Afterwards, the handler brings Lowkey inside and clips their leash. While walking to the room, Lowkey exuberantly jumps on a familiar handler as they're in a lower position (squatting); the handler pulls him off of them. The handler then returns Lowkey to his kennel. 7/11/26: It is reported via the whiteboard that Lowkey Mischef was scratching kennel door while staff was working in room 7/8/26: Lokey Mischief is noted to be very energetic jumping on handlers and difficult to manage. 7/7/26: Lowkey Mischief is at the front with a soft body wagging tail. He is easily leashed and taken to the elevator. Lowkey sits nicely for treats, which he takes gently. He is then walked outside and taken towards the street. Lowkey relieves himself and begins to jump up high and exuberantly on the street next to the handler, reaching eye level. He sticks his nose into the handlers treat pouch before jumping high again and mouthing their sleeve with light pressure. Handler straight arms him a few times as he is walked back to the shelter. He eventually stops when brought back to the driveway. Lowkey is taken to assessment office where he approaches handlers exuberantly. After his assessment, Lowkey Mischief is walked back upstairs and returned to kennel without issue.

Summary (7):: 7/5/26: Lowkey Mischief is at the front of the kennel with a soft body and wagging tail. He is jumping up and down repeatedly. Lowkey is easily leashed with a treat lure. He pulls hard out of room and is taken to the street. Lowkey walks with a handler with a loose leash. He begins to jumps up high past the handler's head a few times. He sits for treats and takes them gently when offered. Lowkey relieves himself a few times before he is walked back to the shelter. Lowkey Mischief is then returned to kennel without issue. 6/26/26: It is reported via whiteboard that Lowkey Mischief is jumping on the handler after he relieves himself but without mouthiness. 6/25/26: Lowkey is at the front of his kennel with a wiggly body; he is easily leashed and brought out the room. On the street, Lowkey walks next to the handler with mild leash tension; he doesn't react to people or dogs. Lowkey allows pets from the handler, as he slightly leans into it. He then jumps up towards the handler; he does it again closer to their face. Upon entry, the handler clips their leash and walks Lowkey to his new kennel; he doesn't enter on his own, even with treats tossed in, but the handler slightly muscles Lowkey and he enters. 6/18/26: Lowkey Mischief is laying down in the back of his kennel when the handler approaches, he quickly gets up when the handler feeds him treats. The handler opens up his kennel where he allows the handler to easily leash him, he walks loosely out of the kennel room. Lowkey Mischief is taken to the play yard for socialization. He easily allows the handler to clip the lead to his collar once in the yard he jumps on the brench and lays down he lip licks slow wagging his tail. the handler feeds him treats which he begins to display a more softer body and he allows the handler to sit next to him and he begins to lean into contact rest his head on the handler. The handler will disengage with touch but Lowkey Mischief will continue to want contact. The handler gets up which he follows and is given a snuggle matt which he slowly takes treats but drops them. Lowkey Mischief is released and taken back to the center where he ignores passing dogs and he goes into his kennel without issue.-DF 6/18/26: It is noted on the whiteboard that Lowkey Mischief might be house trained. 6/14/26 (Assessment): Lowkey Mischief was lying at back of kennel as handler approached. He was easy to leash and take for a brief walk before his assessment. While on his walk he stayed next to handler. Another dog saw him and started barking and Lowkey was tense with ears back as he stared at the dog. He accepted treats, and tolerated scratches on his head and neck. During his handling assessment he had a tense face when the assessor tried to pet him. He was returned to kennel with no issue. 6/13/26: Lowkey Mischief is reported to be an easy walk, but "fearful".

ENERGY LEVEL:: Lowkey is described as active and enthusiastic. They will need daily mental and physical activity to keep them engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in addition to physical exercise, to positively direct their energy and enthusiasm. We recommend feeding with puzzle feeders and food-dispensing toys. And we recommend using force-free, reward-based training techniques for Lowkey.

Potential challenges comments:: Destructive Behavior: Lowkey's previous owner states that he is destructive in the home. We are unaware of what, if any, attempts were made to remedy this behavior but we suggest to future adopters that Lowkey will need to be provided with physical and mental stimulation and with a variety of appropriate and engaging chew toys so they can engage in necessary chewing behavior without damage to human objects. Please see handout on Destructive Behavior. Handling Sensitivity: Lowkey was observed to hard stare at the handler when they would reach to grab his collar. Positive reinforcement, reward based training should be used to pair touch with good things such as food rewards in order to teach Lowkey to be more comfortable with this. Please see handout on Handling and Touch Sensitivity. Fearful: Lowkey's previous owner states that he is fearful when startled. Lowkey has been observed to have a tense body and face when the handler attempts to initiate contact. They should never be forced to approach anything that they are uncomfortable with or submit to petting or handling. It should always be their choice to approach a new person or thing. Lowkey would do best in an initially calm and quiet home environment and should be given time to acclimate to their new surroundings. Please see handout on Decompression Period. On Leash Reactivity: Lowkey's previous owner states that he will lunge, growl, and hard bark at small animals. Lowkey has been observed to become tense and stare at another dog that was reacting at him. Lowkey will need positive reinforcement, reward based training to teach them to look at you rather than other dogs. We recommend a front clip harness to help manage this behavior. Please see handout on On Leash Reactivity and Barrier Frustration. Arousal: Lowkey has been observed to jump up high onto handlers (approx 5 ft) and will mouth handlers on their hand, leg, PPE, and clothing. Positive reinforcement training should be used to teach Lowkey to remain calm during arousing situations. If they begin to escalate, people should pause the interaction, and create distance from the trigger. Pattern games such as 1-2-3 treat and the cue “mat” can be used to reinforce calm behaviors.
