Potential challenges: : Fearful,Anxiety,Leash-biting,Low threshold for arousal
Potential challenges comments:: Fearful: Precious displays timid behavior with a slow approach; she is noted to warm up.Training should emphasize slow, gentle interactions, reinforcing voluntary engagement, and building confidence through predictable, low-stress handling routines. Please see the handout on decompression period. Anxiety: Precious is noted to pace, pant, and seek exit. Managing her anxiety will require creating a calm environment, providing enrichment activities, and using stress-reducing techniques like puzzle toys and regular exercise. Please see handout on generalized anxiety. Low threshold for arousal/Leash-biting: Precious is noted to leash bite in the care center.Practice loose-leash walking techniques, and consider using a different type of leash or harness that might be less tempting for her to bite. Consistent redirection and reinforcement of desired behaviors will help decrease her leash-biting tendencies. Please see handout on arousal/Leash-biting.
