This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information. Soccerball needs at risk placement for medical reasons. He is a sweet, young cat with a poor appetite due to a severe upper respiratory tract infection. He needs supportive care in a veterinary clinic in order to recover. A volunteer writes: Soccerball is a handsome gent found in a large hospital parking lot. A worker spotted him three days in a row and decided to bring him to safety. Soccerball is quite a catch, sparkling white with an all ebony coiffe crowning his beautiful head. Soccerball likes to lounge and sometimes can be found in a deep sleep. Tap on his shoulder and he will be ready for his meet and greet!Indeed, Soccerball is a friendly and welcoming kitty, super playful too and the good thing, he does not get overstimulated and enjoys petting while playing. Soccerball's SNAP test was found positive for FeLV, an immunological condition that predisposes cats to infections as well as other medical issues and can shorten their lifespan. It is only contagious to other cats. Therefore FeLV+ cats should be the only pet in the house or live with other cats with the same condition. Soccerball's diagnosis should be confirmed or discarded by other tests that will need to be done by an outside veterinarian. Soccerball is so worth to meet and if your household meets his needs, why not considering him as your forever best friend? What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! Soccerball is a cat's cat who is sweet, friendly, and knows who he is! He was in a deep sleep, but with enough petting, he woke up and was very curious, ate treats, and enjoyed petting. In time, he was coaxed down with a squeeze-up treat and was at the front eating it while continuing to enjoy petting on his head, cheeks, and along his back. He struggled a bit during the pick-up, but he allowed himself to be picked up and held in the assessor's arms. When he was set back down, he resumed eating and being his calm and curious self. Soccarball interacts with the assessor, solicits & appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience.
