Summary:: When brought into the assessment room Iceland remained tense and fearful. Noted to keep her distance from handler while showing whale eye and lip lciking. When approached Iceland becomes tense and creates distance. Due to the high levels of fear, stress, and anxiety displayed. Iceland is not a candidate to receive a handling assessment at this time.

Summary (7):: 2/4/25: Iceland has been observed to be panting heavily in kennel while jumping up on the walls. His kennel is painted in feces. 1/29/25: Iceland is at the front of her kennel as handler approaches. She is leashed without issue and brought out of kennel and into the street with handler. Iceland almost immediately flinches and jumps intensely as she hears a loud noise behind her. Iceland does not pull during her walk, she walks close to handler and will stop to sniff or use the bathroom in patches of dirt she likes. Iceland is able to walk past people without issue but will stare at people passing her and frequently turns to look behind her in a nervous manner, whether there are people behind her or not. Iceland is slightly tense throughout her walk and lip licks frequently. Iceland jumps and flinches a few more times during her walk when she hears a sudden noise, and ignores dogs she sees when walking. Iceland walks a bit more before being brought back to the building and returned to kennel. Iceland allows clipping and is returned without issue. 1/26/25: Iceland is at the front of her kennel as handler approaches. She briefly backs up when handler introduces the leash to kennel but allows leashing a second time. She is taken to the street for her walk, during which she walks past people without issue and does not pull. She stops to sniff frequently or to use the bathroom and accepts treats from handler. She is then brought back inside for a handling assessment. During her assessment Iceland has a tucked tail and tense posture, she does not accept treats in the office and is weary of assessor. She will back away when approached with a drag line as handlers attempt to place her on a drag leash. She continues to move away from handlers and lip licks/stress yawns a few times before handlers decide to end interaction to not further stress Iceland. She is brought back to kennel and returned without issue.
