ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 6/7/26 FB09 Ocelot was sitting on top of his den and moved back with dilated eyes and his tail wrapped around his legs when the door opened. He sniffed the treats offered to him and cautiously began licking them. He allowed pets along his head and body with the click stick but his body remained tense. 6/11/26 Vol. Ocelot is crouched on top of the den, side pressed against the back, tail wrapped tightly around, looking afraid. He responds immediately to the treat extended on the tool, and then allows petting by hand on his head, neck, shoulders and partway down his back while eating the treat. He repeats the treats twice but still seems a bit fearful. Kennel is messy with loose stools (noted for medical). 6/12/26 FB09 Ocelot was lying on top of his den with dilated eyes and forward ears and sat up when the kennel door opened. He cautiously sniffed the treats offered to him with his tail wrapped around his legs before eagerly leaning in and licking them up. His eyes softened while eating the treats as he made eye contact with the handler. When petting along his head, his ears flattened as he squinted, allowing some petting before eventually moving back. 6/13/26 FB73 Ocelot is laying on top of his den, eyes wide, pupils dilated, and body tense as the handler approaches and opens the kennel door. He is offered a squeeze up and hesitantly eat it after a bit of soft talk. Ocelot is tolerant of petting on the head but tenses, ears going back and not engaging with the attention. 6/14/26 Vol. Ocelot was curled up on his den. He was not interested in treats or being pet today. 6/20/26 Vol. Ocelot was in his den, looking out with pupils neutral, ears up, whiskers back. He comes out immediately on seeing the purée on the tool, first extended through the portal, then out in the litter box, and finally at the front of the kennel, allowing pets all over his body, remaining calm so same as last week, doing great. 06/23/26 FB47 Ocelot was asleep in her litter box but woke up when spoken to, slow blinked, and sniffed treats. She then allowed petting on her head and nose and allowed the assessor to remove litter that was stuck on her nose. He is doing well and could benefit from just a little more time. 6/24/26 FB09 Ocelot was lying in his cubby with neutral eyes and forward ears. He poked his head out to sniff the treats offered to him before licking them up. He allowed pets on his head while eating and came about halfway out of his cubby to continue eating. He scanned the room and let out a meow, allowing a few more pets from the handler before returning to his cubby again. 6/25/26 FB09 Ocelot was crouched at the front of his cubby and was startled by the door opening. He looked at the handler with wide, neutral eyes and leaned in to eagerly eat the treats offered to him. He began biting at the Squeeze-ups, allowing head pets while eating. When he finished eating, he accepted some more petting before eventually backing away. GAN~

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: 6/6/26 Ocelot was in the kennel and retreated on top of the den when approached, looking somewhat concerned with a hunched body, lowered face, and large pupils. He pulled back from treats but then sniffed them. He ignored squeeze-up at first and pulled back when petting was attempted, but he allowed petting on his cheek and head while remaining a little tense. A squeeze-up was then left for him. He ate it while the assessor was still present, and he remained in place throughout. 7/6/26 Ocelot is laying in a loaf position in his top cubby as the assessor approaches, body tense and eyes wide. When the cubby door is opened, Ocelot gets up, backs away, and hisses before exiting the cubby. He is tolerant of petting on the head and cheeks with the scratcher tool but remains tense, does not engage, and leans away to avoid contact before running back into his cubby. Pickup is not attempted due to observed behavior. Ocelot tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
