Misha

Hello, my name is Misha. My animal id is #165136. I am a desexed male white cat at the . The shelter thinks I am about 8 years 1 months 3 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 2/22/2023, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive towards people.

Someone has already placed a deposit on me. I'm no longer available.

Misha is on the emergency placement list for medical reasons. She has had chronic GI issues (vomiting and diarrhea) that, so far, have been unresponsive to diet modifications. She also has underlying heart disease that may also be a cause for GI problems. She needs diagnostics and support that we are unable to provide.

Let's get to know each other a bit more...

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information. Misha is on the emergency placement list for medical reasons. She has had chronic GI issues (vomiting and diarrhea) that, so far, have been unresponsive to diet modifications. She also has underlying heart disease that may also be a cause for GI problems. She needs diagnostics and supportive care that we are unable to provide. A volunteer writes: From across the adoption room you may find yourself doing a double-take - OMG, is that a polar bear pup, or an arctic fox?! On closer inspection, you'll realize that you are looking at our snowy white, puffball kitty, Misha. You'll find him soliciting attention at the front of his kennel, and making himself just generally irresistible. I myself was powerless to resist him and sat down in front of his kennel. I alternated between petting him and being petted by him, as he rubbed his cheeks against my hands over and over again. You can tell he's a playful chap who will occasionally give you a light nip to remind you to give him a toy or a treat. You can tell that he so wants to have fun and mix it up more than the space in his kennel allows. The amazing thing about Misha is that, when he came to us, we were told that he was very fearful and that he usually kept himself hidden. We saw some of that fearfulness at first, but, soon after he arrived, he was rolling around joyfully and purring up a storm. We must have succeeded in making him feel comfortable -- it would be easy enough for him to hide in the cubby part of his kennel, but instead, he waits for attention at the front of his kennel in the midst of a busy adoption room. If he has come this far with us, just imagine how happy and fun he will be in his forever home (with you?). Please check here for updated adoption hours.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 2/23/23 Hiding in den in loaf position with tail wrapped around body. Ignores treats offered and allows petting on his head but blankly stares at me with a tense body. When stroking his body he looks back and remains calm but unsure. Needs time to adjust. 2/25/23 Meows sweetly in the den when the cover is raised and allows gentle petting, slightly shy but sweet. Sniffs treats. 2/26/23 Crouched down in den, when I lift the den blocker, he focused on me with a neutral body and wide eyes. Sniffs tuna filet offered on tool. Allows petting on head, cheeks, and body but does not engage with the attention. I attempt to coax him out of the den but he is not interested. 2/27/23 Crouched down in den with head poking out. When spoken to and opening the door, he hides in the den. I lift up the den blocker and he softly meows. He ignores treats offered and sniffs my hand, then head bunts and leans back. Leans in when receiving cheek rubs. Still a little nervous at first with touch but has potential to warm up. 2/28/23 Misha was in her den but the portal door had been left shut so I opened it and she slunk half way through it and while her head was in the other kennel I gave treats and catnip near the den. She then went through and came back into the den and then back and forth one more time. 3/2/23 Crouched down in den, pokes head out to sniff treats on scratcher tool. Rubs face against tool and leans in hard for cheek rubs. Allows petting on the head with my hand and continues to appreciate more cheek rubs, rolling over on his side. A little bit shy and unable to coax out of the den with more petting, but enjoys the attention. Very sweet boy! 3/3/23 Meows when spoken softly to. Head bunts the hand when petted. Slowly engages the front and appreciates attention. Enjoys offered treats. 3/4/23 Misha poked her head out and when I showed more internet he once again slunk into the other kennel and then returned to the den, barely allowing petting.
