Animal Profile

Coco

Hello, my name is Coco. My animal id is #259159. I am a female white dog at the Queens Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 12 years old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 7/8/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- cannot afford to care for.

Coco is on the at risk list for medical reasons. Coco is a geriatric dog with comorbidities. She has been diagnosed with a UTI and is currently being treated. She also has dental disease, a mammary gland tumor, heart murmur, rough haircoat, elevated liver and kidney values on bloodwork. Coco will need follow up with a vet for geriatric care, long-term planning. Behaviorally, Coco has allowed all medical handling.

Meet Coco, a sweet 10-year-old little lady who's ready to spend her golden years with a loving family. This affectionate, low-energy pup is happiest lounging near her favorite people and enjoys a relaxed routine filled with short walks, cozy naps, and the occasional tasty treat. Coco is friendly with strangers, does well with children, and is tolerant of other dogs. She is housetrained, walks beautifully on a loose leash, and even knows cues like "sit," "come here," and "get in your bed." She loves squeaky toys, furry toys, and snacks for a job well done. Like many senior dogs, Coco has a few quirks. Loud noises, being left alone for long periods, and car rides can make her nervous, and she'll often let you know when someone is at the door. She also prefers that her nails be trimmed by a professional and has sensitive skin that makes brushing uncomfortable. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will happily curl up beside you and fill your home with quiet companionship, Coco may be the perfect match. Her previous family describes her as incredibly sweet and friendly-and she's ready to share that love with her next family.
