Animal Profile

Queen

Hello, my name is Queen. My animal id is #216976. I am a female brown dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years 9 months 1 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 1/9/2025, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive to other animals.

Sorry, this pet is for new hope partners only.

Pre-Screener Form

Queen is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Queen was brought into the care centers for fighting with the other resident dog in the home. Her previous owner stated that she has always been dog reactive, and would consistently get into intense fights with the other resident dog, resulting in broken skin. She also noted that Queen will resource guard her food from the other dog, snapping when approached. In care she has tolerated all handling but remains fearful with a low head and tail, pinned back ears, and hunched shoulders when walking. She is noted to hard bark and growl at strangers and remained tense both during her intake and assessment. With handlers she has slowly become more social, accepting soft pets. Medically, Queen is apparently healthy.
