Let's get to know each other a bit more...
A volunteer writes: If dogs were assigned a "sweetness density", Peppermint's would be off the chart: she is itty bitty and so, soo sweet!! She is the slightest bit bashful, but still very friendly and quickly warms up to solicit affection. She has been an angel to walk on leash and seems housebroken. She might not know much yet in the way of commands (or maybe we just aren't speaking the same language!), but she is more than happy to accept treats for just being her. She has perfected her begging technique (she'll rest her head on my lap and cue the puppy dog eyes) and takes them super gently...and really seems gentle in every other way too. She'll hang out in my lap, wags her tail when spoken to, and always makes the softest eye contact. She is going to make someone super happy...please come meet her at Brooklyn ACC!

Summary (1):: During her stay at the Care Center, Peppermint showed little interest in socializing with other dogs. She mostly keeps to herself, and offers corrections when persistently greeted. She was brought in as a stray so her behavior around other dogs is unknown. The Behavior Department believes that Peppermint would be most comfortable as the only dog in the home. Any resident dogs should be polite and respectful. All introductions should be conducted slowly and be under supervision. 11/20: When off leash at the Care Center, Peppermint displays a nervous, tucked posture and is uncomfortable with the approach and greet of the male. She offers a clear correction- bark, head whip- when his genital sniffing become persistent. 11/21: During her session, Peppermint mostly kept to herself wandering the pen and avoiding the novel female dog. She briefly sniffs her, then investigates the pens. 11/22: Peppermint began to tense up and heighten her posture when greeting a fearful dog.
