I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 10/30/2017, with the surrender reason stated as not a fit - too big.

Little Tom is at risk due to FELV. At this time there are no know behavior concerns for him (beginner determination).

Pre-op exam S: Purring, friendly, allows all handling O: BAR-H, BCS 5/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: Moderate black granular discharge AU, pt shaking head. No discharge OU, nose. Clean deciduous teeth. PLNs: Not significantly enlarged. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated M/S/I: Amb x4. No skin lesions noted. UG: Male intact, testicles small, soft and symmetrical. Neuro: Alert and appropriate, no sign neurological deficiencies A: Likely ear mites Short-term prognosis: Good P: Neuter. Clean ears every 3 days, start Tresaderm AU BID x10 days. 1088

Little Tom allowed me to pick im up and pet him. He was very relaxed when collared and mostly stayed still and let me take his picture. He meowed when picked up and his body tensed.

Basic Information:: Little Tom is a male brown tabby DSH. He was found as a stray 2 months ago and his finder kept him in hopes of re homing. He was surrendered because she was unable to find a home for him. He has no known injuries or health concerns but has not been to the vet.

Previously lived with:: 1 adult, 2 childre, 2 siblings

How is this cat around strangers?: Around strangers, Little Tom is friendly and outgoing and exuberant at play with adults.

How is this cat around children?: Little Tom lived with 2 children, one 8 year old and 1 10 year old. With them, he was relaxed and affectionate and exuberant at play.

How is this cat around other cats?: Little Tom lived with his 2 siblings and mom. With them he was relaxed and affectionate and exuberant at play. When he was outside and saw a bigger male cat, he ran away and kept his distance.

How is this cat around dogs?: Little Tom has no been around dogs.

Behavior Notes: Little time sleeps in car rides. When given baths he cries and struggles to get away. He also cries and is afraid when picked up. He isn't bothered if he is placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping.

Bite history:: Little Tom has never attempted to bite a person or animal.

For a New Family to Know: Little Tom is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and talkative. His previous owner likes that he likes to explore. when his previous owner was home he followed her around. He likes to play with balls, string and paper balls. He was kept mostly indoors but at times went outside where his mother was. At night he slept in his previous owners bed. He ate dry 9 lives and is litter box trained. He used clay litter in an uncovered litter box.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: Resting on kuranda bed, soft eyes and body, looking around. Lay in place when door opened. Leaned into pets, closed eyes. Really likes throat rubs!
