Animal Profile

Saint

Hello, my name is Saint. My animal id is #214430. I am a desexed male white dog at the Queens Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years 1 months 1 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 11/27/2024, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving.

Saint is at-risk due to behavior concerns. Owner reported Saint bite a family member on the finger. It was a bite and release, client stated it broke skin but didn't draw blood. This is the only time he has bitten, and it was due to living in a fearful environment. In the care center, he has been fearful and stressed in kennel, intermittently trembling and hypersalivating, despite attempts to make him comfortable. He has growled, hard barked, and lunged at dogs while on leash. Saint is generally social with staff, accepting contact with a low tail wag, and takes treats with a soft mouth. Medically, he has dermatitis but is overall healthy.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I would do best in a home with only adult humans. I am playful and cute!
