Behavior Condition: 3. Yellow
KNOWN HISTORY:: Sandy was brought in with limited information on his behavior history in a home environment.
ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Subdued
VOCAL:: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: : Shy ,Curious,Timid,Skittish,Independent
POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:: Fearful,New home adjustment period
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Level 3
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: Sandy was in the den, alert and wide-eyed, with ears erect and forward. After lifting the den cover, he anxiously scanned the surroundings. He briefly tolerated petting with a scratcher tool through a side portal but stayed on alert, watching from a distance. He showed no interest in treats until left alone. Ended the assessment to reduce stress. Sandy tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.
