This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information. Silhouette needs emergency placement for medical reasons. He is not eating due to an upper respiratory infection and high stress in the shelter. He needs outpatient veterinary management in a quiet environment. What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. Silhouette tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home. Please check here for updated adoption hours.

Details on my behavior are...

Behavior Condition: 2. Blue

KNOWN HISTORY:: Silhouette was brought in as a stray, there is no known information on his behavior history in a home environment. Upon intake, the cat allowed soft petting and to be scanned for MC(-). The cat presented a tense body.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 1/14/24 Silhouette was sitting in loaf position in the top cubby. He ignored the treats I put down. I slow talked to him for a few seconds and then gave him a cheek rub. He immediately leaned into my hand. I pet him for a few minutes and ended the interaction. 1/16/24 Sneezing upon approach. Resting inside the cubby with head high. Alert with soft eyes. Ears relaxed and forward. He head bunts the hand when petted and remains calm in position throughout the interaction. Ignores offered treats. 1/20/24 Stares at me from top of karunda bed, pulls back and lip licks as I open the door, sniffs treats. UTW. 1/21/24 Silhouette was sitting in loaf position, facing the back of the kennel. He didn’t turn around when I opened the kennel, snapped my finger, or when I touched him lightly on his back. 1/24/24 Silhouette was lying in his kennel with soft eyes and neutral ears. He stood up and began kneading his paws when approached. He head bunted and leaned heavily into cheek rubs. He ate some squeeze up then continued to solicit attention. Several times, he stepped away then came back to the front of his kennel and head bunted- he appeared social but maybe didn't want too much attention all at once.
