Nash is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex, which is contagious to other dogs. Behaviorally, we have no concerns for Nash, whom we believe would be suitable for most homes.
You may know me from such films as...
Let's get to know each other a bit more...
A volunteer writes: Bam Bam is a handsome knight waiting quietly in his kennel and checking right away when someone is at his door. He is young, loves company and likes to stretch his legs in a stroll around the block. Bam Bam is a good walker, likes to sniff around and leave his scents. He is polite with his peers in the street or in playgroups. It was so cute to see him play bowing to a little female dog on the other side of a fence. He is gentle sampling treats from my hands and sits on and off for them. Balls and toys do not interest him at this point but this friendly and sociable youngster will learn in no time once he will be your pet. Indeed, Bam Bam is a gentle character who likes the attention and caresses. He is really good looking with or without a coat or accessories he does not mind at all to wear. He is not camera shy either. I was smitten by him and enjoyed yesterday my second encounter with him, looking forward for more to come...unless of course....he will be no more with us but in your loving home. Come and meet Bam Bam at the Manhattan Care Center !

ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Bam Bam so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm.
IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:: 6/3/2018 Though he has displayed social behavior during his stay in the care center, Bam Bam has been observed to mount handlers when overstimulated; he has been observed to refocus. 12/27/2018 Bam Bam consistently displays highly social behavior with his human caretakers. He maintains a loose wiggly body throughout interactions and solicits attention from handlers.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: EXPERIENCE (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with the behaviors outlined below)
Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable
Potential challenges: : Basic manners/poor impulse control
Potential challenges comments:: Basic manners/poor impulse control: It is recommended that default behaviors such as "Leave it", "Sit/Stay", "Down" are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach Bam Bam to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended.
