What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me. I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles! I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy! I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

Summary:: 5/5/26: Georgia Peach greets another dog at the gate with a tense body. Off leash, she remains tense but is tolerant of the other dog sniffing her and at times pawing at her.
Summary (7):: 5/14/26: Georgia Peach is standing at the front of the kennel as the handler approaches. While being leashed, Georgia attempts to push her way out of the kennel with a wiggly body but allows the leash to be clipped to her harness. She walks loosely to the garage, stopping periodically to cough, and urinates once outside. She is walked up and down the block with little pulling and occasional stops to cough. She sees dogs being walked, but does not react. She notices two pigeons and pulls slightly toward them but does not react further. Georgia Peach is walked back to Med ISO and her leash is clipped. Before entering her kennel, she stops at the entrance, so the handler lifts her front end using the harness to place her front paws inside, after which she climbs the rest of the way in. The leash is removed without issue. 5/9/26: Georgia Peach is at the front of her kennel with a soft body; she is easily leashed and brought out the room. On the street, Georgia walks with little leash tension; she doesn’t react to dogs or passersby. Georgia allows pets from the handler. Upon entry, she slowly climbs the stairs. The handler clips their leash and brings Georgia into a new kennel. 4/26/26 (Assessment): Georgia peach was at front of kennel when handler approached. She was easily leashed and pulled from kennel. Georgia Peach pulled hard the entire length of her walk. While on a street walk she saw pigeons and would stalk, hunt and lunge at them. At several points on her walk she was on her hind legs walking wide to how hard she was pulling. Handler escorted Georgia Peach to the behavior room for her assessment. She was returned to kennel with no issue.

ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Georgia Peach so we cannot be certain of their behavior in a home environment. However, they will need daily mental and physical activity to stay engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in addition to physical exercise, to positively direct their energy and enthusiasm.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: Level 3
Recommendations:: No children (under 13)
Recommendations comments:: No children (under 13): Due to poor impulse control and mouthy behavior, we recommend an adult only home.
Potential challenges: : Basic manners/poor impulse control,Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition,On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration
Potential challenges comments:: Basic Manners: Georgia is observed to jump up on handlers. It is recommended that default behaviors such as "Sit" and "Off" are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach them to control their impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward-based training only is recommended. Please see handout on Basic Manners. Mouthiness: Georgia is observed to mouth handlers with moderate pressure. We recommend never playing with bare hands, always with a toy, and ending play or attention whenever Georgia puts teeth on skin. They should be rewarded with attention and treats when they stop and/or when they are seeking attention in alternate ways. Please see handout on Mouthiness. On Leash Reactivity: Georgia is observed to stalk and lunge at pigeons. Georgia will need positive reinforcement, reward based training to teach them to look at you rather than other dogs. We recommend a front clip harness to help manage this behavior. Please see handout on On Leash Reactivity and Barrier Frustration.
