Let's get to know each other a bit more...

A volunteer writes: Sheena might have a warrior princess name but she is really the most gentle lamb! She was with her previous family since she was a puppy so she's a little lost to find herself without them, but even her nerves can't hide what a SWEETHEART she is!! A few treats and baby talk were all it took to get her to start wiggling her little tail and glue herself to my side. She has been very easy to walk (and looks up at me approximately every 5 seconds to make sure she's doing everything right!), seems housebroken, and has previously done well with children and other dogs. She might be bashful but she clearly harbors a strong love for people: she always makes the softest eye contact and if you let her approach you at her own pace she'll offer you her paw unsolicited and nuzzle her head into your lap. Whenever I put her back in her cage she adorably re-arranges her bedding and is almost motherly with her toys. I can't get enough of this beautiful, sensitive angel...please come meet her at Brooklyn ACC and take her home!

Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable

Potential challenges: : Fearful

Potential challenges comments:: Fearful: Though observed to be human-social, Sheena may need time to warm up to the handler as she initially presents as a fearful dog, avoiding contact, shying away from direct touch. We recommend allowing Sheena to interact at her own pace, force-free, rewarding based training is advised when introducing her to new/unfamiliar situations.
