I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 9/18/2019, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive towards people.

Selena is at risk for behavioral reasons. Selena has a bite history and would be best suited for placement with a new hope partner that can provide the necessary behavior modification. Medically, Selena has dental disease which may need further care.

Scanned positive History : Owner surrender due to biting family members Subjective: BAR, Observed Behavior - Wagging tail, tense for exam Evidence of Cruelty seen - None Evidence of Trauma seen - None Objective P = 120 R = 30 BCS 4/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: moderate tartar PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: FS, green tattoo present on ventral abdomen MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, few matts in coat. Basic Information:: Selena is an altered small mixed breed dog being surrendered by her owner due to aggressive behaviors shown in teh home, including a bite to the owner's sister.
Previously lived with:: 1 adult, but family visits frequently
How is this dog around strangers?: Dog will growl and run towards strangers and bark. She will sometimes show teeth as well. She has come close to biting strangers but has been caught before she got there.
How is this dog around children?: She will growl and back away from the children.
How is this dog around other dogs?: She has been to dog parks before and will greet politely but sometimes hides behind the owner or will be more aloof.
How is this dog around cats?: She will chase cats on the street but has never been around them in the home.

Medical Notes: She was underweight and ill when they got the dog but she was taken to the vet and treated successfully. She has been healthy for the rest of the year the client has had the dog.
For a New Family to Know: High energy, she only plays with some toys but prefers soft squeaky toys and destroying. She likes to run a lot, both in the home and outside on walks etc.
