What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me. I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some canine body language together! I am excitable and energetic! I will need positive outlets for my energy! I would do best in a home with only adult humans. I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy! A volunteer writes: Eggsy was very responsive to the sit cue and held it beautifully until rewarded. After taking a treat, he would immediately sit again on his own, tail wagging as he waited patiently for the next one. He could be a little grabby and jumpy at times, but he is still a puppy, so that is understandable. Overall, Eggsy came across as a playful, active boy who seems highly trainable with treats as motivation.

ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Eggsy so we cannot be certain of their behavior in a home environment. However, they will need daily mental and physical activity to stay engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in addition to physical exercise, to positively direct their energy and enthusiasm.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: New Hope Only
Recommendations:: No children (under 13),Place with a New Hope partner
Recommendations comments:: No children (under 13): Due to the reported bite incident and a low threshold for arousal we recommend an adult only home. We recommend placement with a New Hope rescue partner who is able to provide an experienced, adult-only foster home. Force-free, reward based training and/or consultation with a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended.
Potential challenges: : Basic manners/poor impulse control,Social hyperarousal,Multiple-bite history/risk of future aggression,Bite history (human)
Potential challenges comments:: Basic Manners/Social Hyperarousal: Eggsy has been observed to quickly become over aroused, jumping up on handlers and head whipping during contact. Eggsy quickly becomes over aroused in the presence of people, jumping up and mouthing. Positive reinforcement, force-free training should be used to teach Eggsy to remain calm when people and other exciting things are around. Eggsy should be rewarded with treats when calm. If they escalate to jumping or mouthing, people should immediately walk away from and separate themselves from Eggsy. Please see handout on Arousal. Multiple-bite history/risk of future aggression/Bite history (human): Although it was reported that Eggsy may have bitten two people, this has not been confirmed. As a precaution, Eggsy should be handled with care. Please refer to the bite history handout for more information.
