Date of assessment:: 3/22/2026

Summary:: 3/22/26: Due to Benyember high level of fearfulness and allowing minimal touch, a handling assessment will not be condcuted at this time.

Summary (7):: 3/27/26: Benyember is standing up at his kennel door whimpering and heavy panting as handler approaches. He continues to whimper while heavy panting as he jumps up and down at the door as the handler unlocks it. He then retreats to the back of the kennel and would avoid being leashed by constantly head whipping, dodging away and lowering his body to try to quickly get out of kennel with the leash loop getting over his head. He is able to be leashed as he sticks his head out the door and is then taken to the behavior room. In the room, he would pace around with an open mouth and loose body. He would approach the handlers and jump up with an open mouth and mouth at their hands. He is comfortable approaching the handlers as they were sitting down to receive pets. He is able to return back to his kennel with no issues. 3/26/26: Benyember is at the back of the kennel, shaking when approached and when the handler approaches Benyember begins to approach with a soft body, and play bow in front fo the kennel. Benyember would walk up the handler and lick there hands, play bow and bark when the handler attempts to clip there leash. Benyember continues to do so and is difficult to clip to his collar so he is leashed regularly where he is a bit head shy but walks right out. Benyember in the office will run around the room, approach staff, play bow and play with toys, accepting petting all along his kennel. Benyember is brought back to kennel and thrashes a bit before being brought back with no issue. 3/20/26: Benyember is at the back of his kennel cowering, trembling and ducking his head into the corner of his kennel. Benyember will not take treats tossed and continues to whale eye and look away from the handler. Benyember's kennel is soiled, and the handler steps into kennel and leashes him where he tolerates the leash being put over his head and when guided out, will intially thrash intensly and vocalize. Once out of kennel Benyember will pull midlly, thrash a bit once hearing the other dogs in opposite rooms. Benyember enters the live room and immediately lays down beside the handler, shaking and looking up towards the handler. Benyember will stay shaking and lay down next to the handler, and does tolerate some petting. Benyember is taken back to kennel with no issue, but remains low bodied.
