Juvia

Hello, my name is Juvia. My animal id is #246850. I am a desexed female gray tabby cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 2 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a returns on 2/17/2026.

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information. Juvia is on the at-risk list for medical reasons. She is not thriving in the shelter environment and has developed an upper respiratory infection. She has not been eating and has lost considerable weight. She needs care and attention that we cannot provide. A volunteer writes: Juvia came to us with friend Nicky as they did not get along with their recent owner's dog. It did not take long before Juvia, a pretty tiger, was adopted. Unfortunately, she got a cold that got worse, her appetite went down and sweet Juvia lost a lot of weight...She kepta sweet and lovely disposition, though, head bunting her visitor, rolling on her side for petting, purring and making loads of biscuits(see her video). Juvia is truly adorable and will make a wonderful and loving pet once her cold is over. I lived with children in my previous home. I have lived with cats in my previous home. The staff think I would do best in a home without dogs. I have been known to shower my favorite people in love! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! What my friends at ACC say about me: Juvia was lying down in loaf position with a soft body and eyes upon approach. When spoken to and opening the door, she immediately gets up, walks forward to sniff treats offered, and enthusiastically head bunts for petting. She leans in hard for cheek rubs, raises her hips and tail in the air when stroking her back, and is unbothered when patting the base of hips/tail. During pick up, she tenses up and low grumbles when lifted up and held a few inches off the ground. After placing her back down, she recovers fairly quickly and continues to appreciate and enthusiastically head bunt for petting and lean in for cheek rubs.
