Hello, my name is Marigold. My animal id is #236751. I am a female tortoiseshell cat at the Queens Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years old.

I came into the shelter as a stray on 9/14/2025.

Marigold is on the at-risk list for medical reasons. Marigold is a sweet cat with an aural mass that should be removed and biopsied. She also has otitis and dental disease which will need to be addressed with a veterinarian. Behaviorally, she has allowed handling and is sweet.

[DVM Intake] DVM Intake Exam Estimated age:2 yo Microchip noted on Intake? n History: stray Subjective: BAR Observed Behavior - friendly Is there evidence of Cruelty? n Is there evidence of Neglect? n Is there evidence of Trauma? n Objective T = P =180 R = 30 BCS 4/9 EENT: Eyes clear, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Left ear- has infected mass/polyp with purulent discharge right ear mild brown/black discharge Oral Exam: mild plaque upper back molars PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: intact female; no scar or tattoo found MSI: Ambulatory x 3,missing back RHL skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate - no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment left aural mass- needs surgical excision and histopathology slightly underweight tripod-- missing back RHL Prognosis: good with treatment Plan: intake tasks ear clean SURGERY: Okay for surgery recommend excision of mass

Recheck aural mass noted at intake S/O: BAR, allows handling except some gentle protesting (paws at my hands, pulls away) for exam/cleaning ears; good appetite, no c/s/v/d noted, bloody-brown spatter on kennel walls EENT: No ocular or nasal discharge; AD mild-moderate pruritis and dry/flaky brown discharge, AS large 2cm ulcerated mass blocking ear canal, sanguineous fluid within canal ORAL: Moderate tartar and gingivitis, stage II-III ddz LUNGS: Eupneic MSI: Healthy haircoat, ambulatory x 4 A: Aural mass AS Otitis vs ear mites AU Dental disease P: Moved to ICU for monitoring to ensure comfort Seek placement for mass removal/histopath, unable to treat in shelter Also recommend dental procedure with placement CTM on daily rounds

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: On approach, Marigold is sitting loafed at the front of the cage with a neutral face and body,ears forward. She sniffs the hand offered and accepts all pets along her head and cheeks, as well as along her sides as she leans into the touch. When offered treats, she stands with her tail raised high, and continues to accept pets as she eats. Purring loudly, she allows the assessor to pick her up and hold her in their arms as she leans into more cheek pets. Marigold interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience.
