Animal Profile

Remy

Hello, my name is Remy. My animal id is #77588. I am a desexed male white dog at the . The shelter thinks I am about 5 years 3 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 10/10/2019, with the surrender reason stated as person health - medical.

Reserved

Someone has already placed a deposit on me. I'm no longer available.

Remy is at risk due to behavior, New Hope Only determination. Due to Remy's multiple bite history and touch sensitivity we feel he would do best in an adult only environment with a New Hope partner prepared to manage care. Medically there are no major concerns at this time.

Let's get to know each other a bit more...

A staff member writes: Long walks on the beach and a great sunset... does this appeal to you because it does for me? I'm Remy, by the way. I'm small, I've got a great haircut, and I'm seeking to be a great companion in a low key home. I can become a bit uncomfortable when meeting strangers, and would prefer an adult only home that can understand my needs for slow approach. Could this be you?

My medical notes are...

Weight: 16 lbs

Recommendations:: No children (under 13),Place with a New Hope partner

Recommendations comments:: No children: Due to Remy being reported to bark, growl, and snap at children in his previous home, as well as due to his multiple bite history, we recommend an adult only home. Place with a New Hope partner: Due to all noted concerns displayed in a home environment, the behavior department recommends Remy be placed with a New Hope placement partner who is able to provide an experienced adult-only foster home. A period of decompression is recommended to allow Remy to acclimate comfortably to his new environment; force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing Remy to new and unfamiliar situations. Consultation with a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended for guidance to safely manage/modify any behavior Remy presents with outside of the care centers.
