Splinter
Hello, my name is Splinter. My animal id is #224217. I am a desexed male black cat at the Queens Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 14 years 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 4/9/2025, with the surrender reason stated as person health - medical.
Splinter is on the at-risk list due to medical concerns. Splinter is a friendly older cat who was surrendered. We have assessed that Splinter is in the early stages of renal disease and has significant dental disease. He will require further follow up with outside vet care. Splinter has allowed all handling and solicits attention during her exams.

I have lived with cats in my previous home. I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. I am a sweet, social, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home! I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat. Splinter interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience. A volunteer writes: Splinter's so excited that you might come visit with him, but his determination to be a good host breaks my heart just a little bit. I can see how hard he's working just to get people to stay a little while even though he knows they might not be inclined to do so - he's a little past the kitten phase at a bright and sparkly 14 and he's not really one to bounce around at the front. Preferring instead to partake in hearty naps with his little face pressed against the back condo wall, Splinter blinked himself awake from one and turned around when he saw me at the front. Asking me not to go just yet and please if I could just share a moment of my time, Splinter was rolling himself into my arms and very sweetly purring. Eager to show me around his new condo, he's a sweet and hopeful senior ready for a second chance.
