What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children. I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. I am a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles! Frankie interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience. A volunteer writes: Frankie overhears people asking for kittens and she understands, as she was once one herself. This doesn't stop her from putting everything she can into making a good first impression, especially because all Frankie wants to do is share her heart. Frankie was abandoned in front of a veterinary hospital and has beautifully picked herself up so that she can be ready when someone chooses her. Even though people keep walking by, she knows someone will give her a second chance one day. Making every effort to meet her forever family halfway, Frankie sits right at the front and chirps out hopefully to new friends. When I opened her condo door, she cheerfully welcomed me by snuggling into my arms. All she wants is a chance to be included in a family and loved for who she is.

My medical notes are...

Weight: 5.34 lbs

It is the policy of ACC not to perform surgery on any animal over the age of 8-10 years due to the higher risks incurred in a shelter setting. The veterinarian is hereby issuing a permanent spay/neuter waiver, from the spay/neuter requirements of the City of NY due to the estimated age of this animal. ACC does recommend you consult with your veterinarian to determine if surgical sterilization is appropriate.

The staff told me cat is estimated to be 12 - appears healthy.

ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Mellow

VOCAL:: Quiet

CHARACTER TYPE: : Social,Calm,Sweet,Affectionate,Easy going,Curious

BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Level 1

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: On approach, Frankie is laying curled up at the front of her cage with a soft face and body, ears forward and tail wrapped loosely around her body. She sniffs the hand offered to her and accepts all pets along her head and cheeks, as well as along her side. After some pets, she stands and stretches with her tail raised and continues to accept pets along her head and back. She allows the assessor to pick her up and hold her in their arms where she settles, purring slightly and accepting pets. When the assessor moves to place her back in the cage, she quickly jumps back in on her own and begins to eat her wet food. Frankie interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience.
