Other Notes:: 5/30/26: 3rd stay Return after being adopted for 10 days Noted to have gotten loose due to leash biting and displays mouthy behaviors. when owner partner comes into the room Lulu will begin to growl and lunge. Lulu will use the bathroom outside on walks (grass, cement, dirt, etc.), but has daily accidents. She is reported to escape the house/yard, to jump frequently, to bite the leash, to pull hard on leash, to have separation anxiety, and to have destructive tendencies. While on walks she reacts to strangers that approach, children, moving objects, other dogs, and other animals by barking, growling, and lunging. She barks/growls when held/restrained. She is not bothered when woken from sleep, when startled, when her paws are touched, or when her collar is grabbed. Around cats - unknown Resource guarding: none reported Bite history: none reported Housetrained: No Very High (more active than most) energy level Lulu will use the bathroom outside on walks (grass, cement, dirt, etc.). She does have daily accidents in the home as she is not potty trained. She will urinate and defecate in the home. She reacts to large dogs and small animals (squirrels, birds, rats, etc.). She will react by lunging but playfully stated her previous owner. Lulu is not bothered when being held/restrained, disturbed while resting/sleeping, pushed/pulled off of furniture, when her paws are touched and when her collar is grabbed/touched. When she is startled, she will bark and/or growl. Lulu is known to be a social/affectionate and vocal dog. She enjoys spending her time where people are as well as the living room, kitchen and bedroom. She loves bath time/water and will allow her owner/family to bathe and brush her and trim nails. She is a level 4 when out for a walk on a leash meaning she pulls very hard (pretty strong, somewhat difficult to manage). She goes out 1-2 times per day for about 20-30 minutes each. Lulu was crate trained and does well for up to 5 hours in a metal crate. Lulu loves all toys and treats. She will eat both wet and dry food. 8/21/2025: Stray during 1st stay.

Summary:: Lulu arrived at the care centers as an owner surrender and is noted to be "friendly, outgoing and playful around familiar dogs as well as unfamiliar dogs both on and off of the leash." 5/31/26: Lulu greets a novel male dog off leash through a barrier. Lulu approaches the gate displaying generally loose body language, though she intermittently stiffens with widened eyes, locked elbows, and a closed mouth throughout the interaction. The novel male approaches with a loose body, wagging tail, and sniffs through the barrier. As the interaction continues, Lulu begins whining, vocalizing, and pacing around the yard while maintaining interest in the novel male. The novel male eventually disengages from the barrier, walks away, and shakes off. 4/23/26: Lulu is introduced to a novel male dog off leash in the care center. He comes up to the gate loose and wiggly, sniffing and greeting through the barrier. He also shifts his attention to staff at times but keeps coming back to the gate greet again. Lulu has her hackles raised along her back and is whining while staying near the gate. She does greet him through it but seems unsure, going back and forth between wanting to engage and pulling away. She paces around the yard at times, then returns to the gate again to look at him once more before the greet ending.

Summary (6):: 08/06/26 (Trainer Note): Lulu is jumping repeatedly onto the door of her kennel as the handler approaches, ping ponging from side to side. The handler leashes her and she pulls moderately to the canine training room. The handler notes that her neck and chest are soaked with saliva. Her pupils are dilated and Lulu pants heavily. The handler gives Lulu a lick mat and a snuffle mat before working with her on the "yes" verbal marker, 123 game, and touch. The handler attempts to encourage Lulu to take a breath with a food lure, but she quickly becomes frustrated, jumping up onto the handler. She is given another snuffle mat before being returned to kennel without issue. 07/31/26: Lulu is at the front of her kennel as the handler approaches. She is leashed with ease and brought to the office where she is clipped to a drag leash and allowed to roam. She immediately engages with a lick mat, later moving to a snuffle mat. When the handler takes out a toy, she will follow the toy around, catch it when tossed to her, and shake the toy. Lulu will sit when asked to "sit", and the handler begins working on a "touch" cue with Lulu. She is later returned to her kennel without issue. 07/24/26: Lulu is at the front of her kennel as the handler approaches. She is standing and barking, but puts her feet on the ground and allows the handler to leash her with ease. She pulls moderately to the play yard where she is clipped to a drag leash and allowed to roam. She shows some interest in toys, but continuously returns to the handler for treats. The handler tosses treats in the air and Lulu catches them. When returning, Lulu pulls moderately back towards the building, but goes back into her kennel with no issue. 7/17/2026: Lulu is at the front of the kennel barking and reacting to her kennel neighbors as the handler approaches. She is leashed with ease and brought outside for a walk. On the walk Lulu accepts pets on both the head and body and takes treats very well. Lulu comes back to the facility and enters the kennel with ease. 7/7: Lulu continues to bark and spin off her kennel walls during cleaning and walks. Her kennel glass is covered in saliva and it can be seen on her neck from her hypersalivating. She pushes off the kennel walls, spinning while barking. 6/30: Lulu is seen screeching and barking rapidly in her kennel. She ping-pongs off the kennel walls before returning to the front of her kennel, jumping up and spinning off the kennel door. Lulu slides and falls into her water bowl before flipping off the kennel door again. Her kennel is covered in feces, and her kennel glass is also finger-painted with feces and dried saliva.

Summary (7):: 06/12/26: Lulu is at the front of the kennel as the handler approaches. She is leashed with ease and brought outside to the play yard. Lulu spends a lot of time sniffing around, but will solicit attention from the handler and lean in for pets. The handler throws a ball for her, but Lulu only chases it and leaves the ball on the ground to sniff. Lulu is returned to her kennel without issue. 06/05/26: Lulu is at the front of her kennel as the handler approaches. She is leashed easily and brought outside for a walk. Outside, she is loose and sniffs around. She will turn towards the handler with a whistle and take treats, but returns to sniffing and walking directly after. She is brought back inside and returned to her kennel without issue. 05/31/26 (PG): Lulu is at the front of her kennel as the handler approaches. She is leashed easily and brought outside to the yard. She pulls mildly while walking. After her interaction, she is brought back to her kennel without issue. 5/19: Lulu is seen jumping up in her kennel, smearing saliva on the kennel glass. She will take a brief break from jumping and stay standing on the kennel door, panting heavily, saliva streaks all over the glass. 5/10: She is such a good girl. I interacted with her last week at an adoption event and she was just beyond perfect with everyone. Today she seemed more stressed and nervous but still so lovable and wanting attention and pets. Her pittie waddle is so so cute. 05/10/26: Lulu is reported to pancake when returning to kennel and needs a treat lure to return. 5/3/26: Lulu is reported to attempt to flee when returning to kennel. 4/23/26: Lulu is standing at the front of her kennel heavy panting as handler approaches. She begins to barking and jump at the door as the handler unlocks it. She begins to paw at the door and tries to shove her way out as the handler attempts to leash her. Once leashed, she pulls on the way to the play yard for play group. In the yard, he greets the other dog at the gate, with hackles raised while pacing back and worth and whimpering. She would constantly jump up on the handler while heavy panting and whimpering. Please see dog to dog notes for more details. She pulls while heavy panting on the way back to her kennel and baulks to the ground at her kennel door. She enters when treats are tossed inside, and then quickly bolts back out. She is then muscled inside due to not wanting to go back in again. She barks and jumps up at the door as the handler unlocks it and walks away. 04/23/26 (BA): Lulu allows leashing and is brought to the assessment room. She displays high levels of anxiety, including panting and pacing, but tolerates handling. She follows the handler during the run portion without becoming over-aroused. She does not respond to knock and will pick up the toy, then disengage. See Behavioral Assessment.
