This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information. Beauty has been placed on the at-risk list for medical reasons. She has breast cancer and severe dental disease, and she needs care and attention that we cannot provide. Behaviorally, Beauty appreciates attention and pets with a slow approach. At 15 years young, Beauty has weathered life's storms with quiet grace. After losing her beloved owner two years ago, this flame-coated sweetheart found herself passed to a relative who could no longer keep her. Now she sits in a bustling shelter-confused, displaced, and understandably overwhelmed by the chaos around her. Beauty is a striking girl with a fluffy ginger coat (that could use some gentle brushing), mesmerizing eyes, and an unmistakable pout that says exactly how she feels about her current situation. Can you blame her for being a little cranky? She's lost everything familiar and finds herself confined to a cage surrounded by strangers and noise. But beneath that grumpy exterior is a loyal companion waiting to emerge. Her former owner describes her as a quiet, family-oriented cat who still has a playful spark. At the shelter, she accepts affection without much fanfare but occasionally leans into pets-a small sign that she still craves connection. She enjoys treats and has passed her behavior evaluation with flying colors. Beauty needs what any senior deserves: a calm home without young children, a patient owner who understands that trust takes time, and the chance to rediscover security. Give her that adjustment period, and this 6-pound lady will reward you with devoted companionship. She has senior teeth, a decent blood panel for her age, and is not spayed. Beauty is ready to leave shelter life behind and find the peaceful retirement she deserves. Could you be the one to restore her faith in happily ever after? It could be with you! [Spay/Neuter Waiver - Age] It is the policy of ACC not to perform surgery on any animal over the age of 8-10 years due to the higher risks incurred in a shelter setting. The veterinarian is hereby issuing a permanent spay/neuter waiver, from the spay/neuter requirements of the City of NY due to the estimated age of this animal. ACC does recommend you consult with your veterinarian to determine if surgical sterilization is appropriate.
