KNOWN HISTORY:: Iced Blueberry Latte was brought in as a stray, there is no known information on his behavior history in a home environment. Upon intake the cat was fearful and hissing. Staff were not able to scan for m/c, pet, or place ACC collar.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 09/14/26 FB47 Iced blueberry latte is sitting in his litter box in a loaf position. I offer him my hand to sniff, his little nose wiggles. I gently touch his forehead, he has no reaction. I begin to gently pet his face and neck. He leans in very gently, his eyes softly narrowing. Iced blueberry latte tolerates full body pets, he has no reaction. Towards the end of the interaction once people enter the room and it becomes louder, he begins to tremble looking past me with whale eyes. 9/13/26 VOL. Iced Blueberry Latte was in a bread loaf pose in his kennel. I offered treats, but he just looked away from them. His bowl of wet and dry cat food seemed to be full, as if he had not eaten any of the food given to him that morning. He accepted petting on his head but did not lean in or react in any way. He is very calm and just may need more time to adjust. 9/18/26 FB61 Lying in front of kennel, body and face tense with his ears forward and his feet and tail tucked. He remains low and tense and in front of his kennel as I open the kennel door. He tolerates petting along his head and body while looking around the room. Not yet ready to lean in, but he shows no signs of escalation. He does not eat the treats offered. 9/21/26 FB61 Hunched in back of kennel, body and face tense with his tail curled around his feet. His ears are forward and as I open the kennel door he sniffles and releases a single snot bubble. He allows petting along his head and back while chirping, shaking his head and leaning in gently. Coming down with a URI - his behaviors may be conflicted at this time due to any potential discomfort associated with medical condition. Might be warming up! 9/24/26 FB61 Hunched in back of kennel, with his face tense, ears forward and tail curled around his feet. He is still pretty sick and tolerates petting on his head while displaying similar behaviors as his previous assessment. He remains in his position while vocalizing and remaining otherwise still. Calm, tolerant baby. We will see how his behavior changes when he recovers from his URI.

Potential challenges comments:: 9/29/26 During his time in the Care Center, Iced Blueberry Latte has quickly come out of his shell. He has become very outgoing, affectionate, and curious during interactions. Future adopters should still be counseled in fearful cat behavior as well as new home adjustment period. It is likely Iced Blueberry Latte will be initially fearful when entering a new environment and will require an adjustment period. Once he is comfortable his affectionate, curious, and sweet personality will shine through. 9/11/26 Iced Blueberry Latte appears to be a fearful cat that is still struggling to adjust to a new and very high stress environment. He does quietly chirp at first, but lip licks as well. He is tolerant of head pets but frozen, and his fur along his back ripples when pets. At this time it is unclear if this is related to his FAS or it is a sign of potential over simulation. When he does reach his limit, he escalates to hissing and stands, but doesn't escalate any further, choosing instead to move to the back and curl up tightly to make himself small. He is still tolerant of some cheek pets with the tool ands seems to have potential, once he is in a more comfortable cage and with daily interactions with the behavior team.

Recommendations comments:: Due to the behavior seen in shelter and needing a longer time to warm up, the behavior team feels Iced Blueberry Latte would do best in a home with no children under 13 years old.

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: 9/11/26 On approach, Iced Blue Latte is tightly loafed near the front of the cage with a tense face and body, eyes wide and dilated, ears forward, and periodically lip licking. He tolerates a few pets on his head with the assessor's hand and remains tense. When pet along his back, he finches and lip licks, as his fur ripples. He repeats this behavior each time and after the first few pets, he begins to escalate to hissing. He reaches his limit pretty quickly and stands, hissing, but does not escalate further. Instead, choosing to remove himself, and moves to the back corner of the cage and curls up tightly - still tense and lip licking. The assessor slowly offers the tool and he does tolerate to a few cheek pets. No pick up attempted due to his high level of FAS. 9/29/26 Upon approach Iced Blueberry Latte is laying in his box with a relaxed face and body. The assessor opens the kennel door slowly, he looks up at them curiously with a loose face and forward ears. The assessor greets, he chirps and rises to his feet exiting the box. He approaches the assessor still chirping. His body is loose with a high tail, his face is relaxed. The assessor offers him their hand, he headbunts it and begins rubbing his face against it. Iced Blue Latte solicits and appreciates head and neck pets leaning in and purring softly. He rubs his body against the assessors arms soliciting and appreciating full body pets. He allows for pickup without issue, his body remains loose. Post pickup, he presses himself against the assessors chest purring softly and rubs his face into their neck while accepting and appreciating pets. Iced Blueberry Latte interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience and demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
