What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children. I would do best in a home with only adult humans. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. A Volunteer Wrote: We are all in love with Cupid-how is that possible, you ask? How is it NOT possible to fall for this gentle, kind, loving boy? He's heart-meltingly dear, eagerly seeking out a leg on which to rest his head, a hand that might show him some much-deserved tenderness with a pet. He has been through so much, and is now suffering from being sick in the shelter-please, can you offer him a bed and some kindness? He will reward you with a lifetime of love.

He was returned to kennel with no issue. 2/28/26: Cupid is at the front of the kennel with a loose and wiggly body. He is easily leashed and removed from the kennel. He pulls moderately out of the room. He is brought to the elevator. While waiting for the elevator, he jumps up on handler socially. He is then brought back to kennel without issue. 02/19/26: Cupid is at the front of his kennel as handler approaches, he is loose bodied with a wagging tail and though initially hesitant he allows leashing after a moment. He pulls out the room hard and follows handler to the street for his walk. Outside he is exuberant and sniffs around, quickly relieving himself and walking on the street with handler. Cupid ignores people and dogs passing on the street and ignores treats offered to him. After a while he is brought back inside for his assessment, once complete he is returned to kennel and interaction is ended shortly after. 2/19/26: It is noted on the board that Cupid is housetrained. 2/17/26: It is noted on behavior board that Cupid will exit kennel for cheese.

ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Cupid so we cannot be certain of their behavior in a home environment. However, they will need daily mental and physical activity to stay engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in addition to physical exercise, to positively direct their energy and enthusiasm.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: Level 3
Recommendations:: No children (under 13)
Recommendations comments:: No children (under 13): Due to fearful behavior we reocmmend an adult only home.
Potential challenges: : Fearful
Potential challenges comments:: Fearful: Cupid has been observed to be tense and fearful while in care. Noted to have a tucked tail when handlers interact. They should never be forced to approach anything that they are uncomfortable with or submit to petting or handling. It should always be their choice to approach a new person or thing. Cupid would do best in an initially calm and quiet home environment and should be given time to acclimate to their new surroundings. Please see handout on Decompression Period.
