Jelly
Hello, my name is Jelly. My animal id is #235677. I am a male orange kitten at the Queens Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 months 4 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 10/11/2025, with the surrender reason stated as not a fit - too many animals already.

I prefer to take things at my own pace.

[Spay/Neuter Waiver - Temporary] Your newly adopted pet has been diagnosed with RINGWORM and the staff veterinarians are issuing a TEMPORARY waiver from the spay/neuter requirements of the City of NY. Follow up care at your regular veterinarian is recommended to ensure continued treatment through to the resolution of the issue. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: Upon approach, Jelly was lying up on the ledge with two of his siblings. He was lying alongside the wall, very relaxed, partially sleeping, with one sibling sitting next to him on the other side. As the door was opened, Jelly peered over at the assessor with half opened eyes. As the assessor slowly approached him with their hand, he looked up gently as the assessor began petting his head. They then moved around to Jelly's cheeks and chin, which he accepted all. As they moved their hand down Jelly's body he remained calm and relaxed accepting all petting. The assessor then picked him which he accepted. The assessor was able to hold and pet him for a few moments before being placed back in the kennel. Jelly then jumped back up to the top and continued to lay with his siblings. Jelly interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience and demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
