Summary (7):: 05/11/25: Ginger is leashed and carried out of his kennel, then walks to the play yard to meet playmates. In the yard, Ginger socializes, walks around sniffing the area, and seeks attention from the handler. Ginger is brought back to his kennel safely with no issues. 5/7: (reassessment) Ginger is standing on the kennel door barking when a handler approaches. Once the door is unlocked, he jumps out into the handler's arms. Then the handler carries him to the behavior office for an attempted handling. He explores the space and checks in with the handler, mostly keeping close to the handler, and is initially wary of the assessor. But with treats and coaxing, he approaches. Once his assessment is complete, he is returned to his kennel without issue. 5/6: Ginger was lying down in his bed when a handler approached his kennel. He pops up and comes to the front when he hears the handler's soft calling. Ginger readily accepts treats but backs away and ducks his head once. The handler can lure his head through the loop using treats and cover him with a towel to pick him up. He is carried to the behavior office and placed on a slip lead with a stopper due to not being collared. Ginger explores the room briefly before returning to the handler. He jumps on their legs, resting his front paws on their thigh while trying to reach into their treat pouch for more treats. He does not show interest in toys, choosing to stay near the handler, following them around the room as they clean up after he relieves himself. He attempts to jump up on the couch, but the handler lures him down as he was recently neutered to avoid any further injury. He rubs his cheeks on the handler's hands, seeking contact. He curves his body inward and as his back and back hips are rubbed. The handler can pick him up without a towel and carries him back to his kennel without issue. 05/02/25: Ginger is observed growling as the handler approaches to leash her. Once the leash is placed over her head, she jumps up in an attempt to bite the handler. Due to this behavior, no further handling is attempted, and Ginger is left in her kennel safely. 5/1/25: Ginger is at the front of the kennel growling when approached, Ginger allows a towel to be placed over here and as she is being picked up begins to thrash and growl when being set down again. Ginger is left alone due to her high FAS.
