Due to being unable to walk properly, Canoe cannot focus. The greeter dog does not interest Canoe, as he leans into one of the handler's present, displaying low energy. Canoe remains soft, appearing lethargic with minimal movement. Canoe is returned to kennel, concluding the interaction. BACC 22' According to Canoe's previous owner, he briefly spent time with another large mixed breed male dog and was respectful around the other dog. 3/8: When off leash at the Care Center, Canoe is introduced to a novel female dog. Summary (6):: 4/24/25: Canoe was observed spending time in the pool while out in the yard. 4/21/25 (late entry): Canoe was observed at the bottom of the ramp being walked by a staff member. He was struggling to use his hind legs more than usual despite being aided by a sling/belly band. Canoe's left hind leg would give out causing him to fall to his side. Handler picked him up and carried him past the stairs. He walked the rest of the way to VS with the sling supporting his hind end. Canoe was examined by VS and handed off to them for further care.

Summary (7):: 04/17/25 (Trainer Note): Canoe is jumping repeatedly onto the front of his kennel as the handler approaches. His kennel is smeared in feces. Canoe is easily leashed and pulls moderately to the canine training room. He allows the handler to attach a drag leash and explores the various enrichment items. Canoe is able to orient towards the handler and breathe between each item. He is then led over to the mat where he gradually increases his duration. Canoe is easily leashed and returned to kennel without issue. - 4/17/25: Canoe is observed to be heavy panting with a wide strained expression, dilated pupils and rebounding off the kennel door as staff and other dogs pass his kennel. 04/11/25 (Trainer Note): Canoe is jumping up onto the front of his kennel as the handler approaches. He is easily leashed and returned to kennel without issue. Handler throws some treats in as Canoe enters the kennel and he engages readily with them. Canoe turns and attempts to grab at the rope once as it is removed before returning to the treats. 4/4/25: Canoe is reported to leash bite when going back into the kennel even when treats are tossed to distract him. 04/03/25: (Trainer Note): Canoe was jumping at the walls of his kennel as the trainer approached, and had been pacing and spreading feces around the floor and walls of his kennel. He was easily kept on the ground using a treat and was leashed and taken to the Live Room. When inside, Canoe was clipped to a drag leash and he explored the room slowly, due to issues with his back leg. The trainer attempted to engage Canoe with a toy, in order to start a polite exchange session, but he wasn't interested. After multiple attempts with different toys, the trainer gave Canoe a snuffle mat. Canoe readily engaged with the snuffle mat, and would orient to the handler for more treats, which he took with a soft mouth. The trainer attempted some PE again, and Canoe was not interested in either soft toys or balls. Canoe was easily leashed and walked calmly back to his kennel. When the trainer was removing the leash, Canoe took the leash in his mouth and briefly attempted to tug at it. He was easily redirected with treats and the trainer was able to remove the leash.
