Animal Profile

Ice T

Hello, my name is Ice T . My animal id is #232213. I am a desexed male tan dog at the Queens Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 11 months old.

I came into the shelter as a stray on 6/3/2026.

Sorry, this pet is for new hope partners only.

Pre-Screener Form

Iced T is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns previously entering care. In the prior home, Iced T was reported to become over aroused with his finders and accidentally bit a person's hand, resulting in a bite-and-release that broke skin. In the care center, Iced T has also been reported to snap during a medical examination when being handled. Iced T in the care center is exuberant but is social with staff and loves to go on walks. Medically, Iced T is apparently healthy.

Details on my behavior are...

Behavior Condition: 3. Yellow

Upon intake Ice T was initially afraid of counselors quickly opening up and becoming very wiggly, friendly and outgoing. He allowed all handling from counselors to be done except for collaring due to being too excited. He was then taken back for vaccinations and walked right into his kennel. All done without any concerns.

Summary (7):: 6/7/26: Ice T is reported to be hard barking and growling at an ACS staff member as they attempt to take him outside for a walk. A behavior team member later on in the day goes to take him outside for a walk. When approaching his kennel, he begins to jump and bark at the door. He is able to be quickly leashed and is then taken outside for a walk. On the walk, he has a loose body as he walks ahead of the handler. He would jump up on the handler with a loose body and is comfortable receiving pets and he would take treats. He would stare at dogs that would pass by and is able to be redirected with treats. He is then taken back to his kennel with no issues. 6/6/26: Ice T is at the front of the kennel jumping at the front of the kennel and barking. He is leashed with ease and will exit the kennel with no issue. He will exit the kennel pulling moderately to the play yard where he will sniff around. After a while, he is returned to kennel with no issue. 06/05/26: Ice T is at the front of the kennel as the handler approaches. He is leashed with ease and brought to the office where he walks around and sniffs. He sits down next to the handler. He is brought back to his kennel and returned without issue. 6/4 (late entry): Ice T is at the front of his kennel with a wiggly body. He is easily leashed and brought to the behavior office for collaring. Ice T greets 2 other handlers in the room by pressing his body into their legs, seeking petting. Ice T allows collaring but quickly begins panting and jumping up with ongoing interactions. The handler brings him outside to the play yard, and he explores scents and the pool. He doesn't enter the pool and occasionally checks in with the hadnler. Ice T returns to his kennel without issue. -
