Summary:: According to Bane's previous owner(s), He is friendly, outgoing, and playful around familiar dogs. He has no experience with unfamiliar dogs and has previously lived with one other dog. 06/22/25 Bane is unable to focus during his interaction with a novel female dog. Bane will ignore the novel female dog completely along with being highly treat motivated. Bane is fixated on treats and will demand them from the handlers present. Bane will be revisited at a later date.
Summary (6):: 07/01/25 Bane is sitting in his crate as the handler approaches. He is easily leash and taken out for a walk. Bane is administered a toy in which he will inspect before commencing on his walk, leaving it on he ground. Bane and the handler will proceed outside. Bane displays a soft, neutral frame as he pants heavily due to weather conditions. Bane will take treats moderately as they are administered and will catch them when tossed as well. Bane is returned to the facility after some time, entering the building with no issue. Treats are tossed in his crate for him to enter, in which he does. 6/22/25: Bane approached handler at front of crate to be leashed. He walked to the yard for a gate greet (see dog-dog summary.) Bane sat in front of handler 2 anticipating a treat as handler 1 clipped him to a drag leash. Bane quickly became impatient with handler 2 and began to make a low, grumbly vocalization. Bane was highly food motivated and persistently solicited treats from handler 2, following them around. Bane sat in front of handler 2, hypersalivating and seemingly fixated on their treats with a tense body. Due to being distracted and demanding, Bane was returned to crate. Bane rushed into crate and then quickly ran back out. Handler tossed a treat into crate and he followed in after it. He stood at very front of crate panting and hypersalivating with a flushed face as handler removed their leash. 06/21/25: (For assessment) Bane greets handler toward front of the crate. Bane takes treats through crate, is easily leashed exiting. In Behavior office Bane takes treats (tossed on floor), explores the room with loose wiggly body, Bane is social with behavior team. Bane comes up to different behavior staff and drops to a sit attempting to solicit treats. After completing assessment Bane is easily leashed and walked back to crate. Handler uses treats to lure Bane back in to crate. (AM) Bane's behavior remains consistent with previous note, please refer to PM note dated 06/20/25 for more details. 6/20/25: Bane is at the front of his crate with a neutral body sitting in front of his crate and is easily leashed to be brought into the office space. Bane with the staff in the room is loose bodied and wiggly, leaning in for petting from the handler. The handler begins to toss treats to Bane and he takes them very roughly. Bane readily engages in snuffle and lick mats, and is able to engage with the staff in the room with a loose body. Bane is easily leashed to be brought back to his crate where he begins to try and paw at the door and vocalize incessantly when walked away from.
Summary (7):: (PM) When approached by the handler, Bane was observed standing in front of his crate with a loose body posture. He was easily leashed and calmly escorted out of the Care Center to the play yard. On leash, Bane walked slightly ahead of the handler while maintaining a loose leash. Once in the yard, Bane initially spent time scenting and marking before approaching the handler to solicit attention. He allowed petting on his head, back, shoulders, and neck. Bane confidently engaged with enrichment equipment, hopping onto the balance board and climbing the A-frame without hesitation. After the session, Bane was escorted back to his crate and entered willingly, engaging with treats left inside. However, when the handler closes the crate door, Bane immediately turned around in a panic and attempted to open the door using his muzzle. Unable to do so, he began whining and pawing at the door. Once a blanket was lowered over the front of the kennel, Bane ceased pawing and settled. 06/19/25 Bane stands in his crate neutrally as the handler approaches. Bane is taken into the behavior office as he exits his crate. Bane is tossed some treats, and the handler will set him up a licki matt. Bane will engage with the licki matt, followed by a slow feeder as well as an ice block. While licking the licki matt the handler collars Bane in which he allows, remaining soft in frame. Bane is tossed some high values once his collar is in before being returned to his crate. 06/18/25 (PM) Bane is standing in his crate with a still frame. He allows leashing and is taken outside for a walk. Bane maintains his still, neutral frame, trotting his way outside maintaining a relaxed pace. Bane appears aloof, not really checking in and keeping a steady pace as he walks. He stops briefly to explore and will continue walking. The handler will administer him a treat in which he takes roughly. The handler will toss treats from here on out, in which he catches. Bane is returned to the facility where he enters the building as well as his crate with no issue. 06/17/25: Bane is standing at the front of crate with a neutral frame as handler approaches. He is leashed with ease and walks to the Canine Behavior Office where he scents along the space with a moderate pant and flushed face. He takes treats increasing roughly from hand, so handlers toss treats to him which he readily eats. Bane begins to whine and seek exit so second handler offers him peanut butter which he engages with for a couple of minutes. Upon return, he balks in front of the crate but is easily lured forward with tossed treats.

Potential challenges: : Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition,Multiple-bite history/risk of future aggression,Low threshold for arousal,Bite history (human)
Potential challenges comments:: Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition: During the assessment treats are tossed due to him taking treats roughly. Teaching him to take treats gently by rewarding calm behavior and using a clicker or marker word can help.
