Potential challenges: : Handling/touch sensitivity,Fearful/potential for defensive aggression

Potential challenges comments:: Handling/touch sensitivity/Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: Betty Boop becomes highly defensive when leashing is attempted, lunging, snapping, and growling at the lead, and later pancaking in her kennel. Training should focus on gradual desensitization to leashing and handling, starting with neutral exposure to equipment and rewarding calm behavior. Avoid force or restraint; instead, allow voluntary participation and keep sessions short and positive to build trust and reduce defensive responses. Please see the handout on Handling/touch sensitivity/Fearful/potential for defensive aggression.
