Summary:: A handling assessment could not be conducted due to Ragnar persistently mounting the assessor and the tight grip he would have on the assessor's leg despite being briefly refocused with chicken before he would regrip.

Summary:: According to Ragnar's previous owner(s), he previously lived in a home with 3 other dogs and is reported to be tolerant. He has no experience with unfamiliar dogs off leash but will lunge at unfamiliar dogs on leash. 07/20/26 Ragnar is introduced to a novel female while off leash. He approaches with a slightly forward frame, will bark at the female and then walk away.

Summary (5):: 8/6/26: Ragnar is standing at the front of his kennel as handler approaches. He is able to be leashed with ease and is then taken to the behavior room. Along the way, he instantly relieves himself in the hallway. In the room, he is able to engage in a snuffle mat. He would try to jump up on the handler and is able to be redirected when the handler tosses more treats onto the snuffle mat. He is able to return back to his kennel with no issues. 8/3/26: Ragnar is standing at the front of his kennel as handler approaches. He is able to be leashed with ease and is then taken to the behavior room. In the room, he instantly relieves himself, and is able to engage in a snuffle mat. He would jump up on the handler and is able to be redirected when the handler tosses treats on the ground. He is able to return back to his kennel with no issues. 7/31/26: Ragnar is standing at the front of his kennel as handler approaches. He is able to be leashed with ease and is then taken to the behavior room. In the room, he instantly relieves himself and is comfortable exploring around for treats. He would constantly jump up on the handler and grip at their shirt to attempt to mount. He is able to be redirected with treats, but he would then try to grab the handler’s legs constantly. Eventually, he is no longer interested in the treats and is then slowly taken back to his kennel with no issues. 7/30/26: Ragnar is standing at the front of his kennel as handler approaches. He is able to be leashed with ease and is then taken to the behavior room. In the room, he instantly relieves himself, and then would constantly try to jump up on the handler while heavy panting. He is able to engage in a snuffle mat, but then try to mount the handler each time he walked away from the snuffle mat. He is able to be redirected when the handler tosses treats on the ground and he is comfortable eating them. Each time he finished the treats he would try to jump up on the handler again, but is able to jump down once the handler offers more treats consistently. He is able to return back to his kennel with no issues.

Summary (6):: 7/29/26: Ragnar is standing at the front of his kennel with a neutral body as the handler approaches. He is leashed without issue and pulls minimally while going to the behavior office. He explores the office and has no interest in treats or toys, including spray cheese. He attempts to mount the handler several times and he is quick to wrap his arms around them with a hard grip and is difficult to pull off. He is able to be short armed when he attempts again. He is social with a familiar handler, leaning into scratches with mid level wags and a relaxed open panting mouth. He is returned to kennel without issue. 7/28/2026: Ragnar is standing at the front of his kennel with a soft body as handler approaches. He is easily leashed and brought to the behavior office. He is social with handlers in the room, leaning in for pets. Handler sits down and attempts to pet him, Ragnar mounts handler several times and has to be straight armed. He is able to be redirected. Ragnar is brought back to his kennel without issue. 7/26/26: Ragnar is standing at the front of his kennel as handler approaches. He is able to be leashed with ease and is then taken to the behavior room. In the room, he has a neutral body as he explores around and would approach the handlers and attempt to jump up on them. He has no interest in treats or toys and eats a few high value pieces of chicken. He would constantly stare at the door and does not engage with the handler. He is then taken back to his kennel and has to be slowly muscled inside due to not wanting to go back in. He would try to shove his snout out the door as the handler closes it before locking it and walking away. 7/25/26: Ragnar is standing at the front of his kennel as handler approaches. He is able to be leashed with ease and is then taken outside for a walk. On the way to the yard, he has a neutral body as he walks ahead of the handler. While in the yard, he would stare at dogs that would pass by on the sidewalk and has no interest in treats or toys. He begins to jump up and grabs onto the handler’s leg to mount them. He is unable to be redirected with treats or toys and the handler has to pull him off two times before being able to exit the yard. On the way back to the building he baulks to the ground of refuses to walk any further down the ramp. He has no interest in treats or toy and the handler then calls for assistance. When two other handlers approach with high value treats, he has no interest in them. He is then able to turn around and be taken back into the building through the elevator instead. He then pulls hard on the way back to his kennel and has to be muscled inside due to not wanting to go back in.

Summary (7):: 07/22/26: Ragnar will be transferred from one handler to another inside the play yard before being brought outside for an enrichment outing. During the walk, Ragnar will maintain a neutral frame while practicing sit and focus cues with the handler. He will respond appropriately to the cues but will refuse food rewards. Ragnar will display heavy panting due to the warm weather but will otherwise maintain a relaxed body throughout the outing. Once this session is concluded, Ragnar will be brought back to the care center and returned to his kennel safely without any issues. 7/20 (pm): A canine rep reported that they were walking their own dog when they noticed another handler having difficulty coaxing Ragnar to walk. Rep offered assistance and the two staff members switched dogs. Ragnar was mildly pancaking between two cars and reluctant to walk or take treats. Handler waited until other dogs and people cleared the walk path and was able to lead Ragnar into the building through the conference room to avoid overwhelming stimuli. Once in the building, handler was able to navigate Ragnar back to kennel without further issue. 7/20/26: Ragnar is standing at the front of his kennel with a neutral body as handler approaches. He is able to be leashed with ease and is then taken to the play yard for playgroup. In the yard, he has a neutral body and low tail as he slowly explores around. He has no interest in treats or toys and does not interact with the handlers as much. He greets the other dog at the gate with a neutral body and then disengages. He is able to return back to his kennel with no issues. 7/19 (pm): ACS staff report that Ragnar was reluctant to return to his kennel after his evening walk. 07/19/26 (Assessment): Ragnar is at the front of his kennel as the handler approaches. he is leashed with ease and brought to the office. Initially, Ragnar is fearful, avoiding the handlers and ignoring any food offered to him. When he is collared and put on a drag leash, he roams around and starts eating food. He then mounts one of the handlers, but is redirected with chicken. He continues to attempt to mount, so he is returned to his kennel.
