Medically, Scrappy is apparently healthy. Scrappy's previous owner's family surrender due to Scrappy's elderly owner unable to care for him any longer. They noted that Scrappy is anxious when left alone but does well with their family with their 5 children and a cat. Scrappy will hard bark and lunge at strangers. Scrappy displayed similar behaviors in the Care Centers, including growling, baring his teeth, and lunging at staff. However, his previous owner mentioned that Scrappy highly enjoys the company of children and LOVES cats. Due to his high fear levels, Scrappy will need an adult-only home through a New Hope Partner that can manage his behavior using positive reinforcement training.
